INSIDE - INTERVIEW

INSIDE is a new revelation coming from italian heavy metal scene, a powerful band that mix the melody of progressive power with the agressivity of techno death, the demo CD “Contradiction”, promoting by the great KICK PROMOTION AGENCY, is a good proof of the personality and creativity of the band. Krepuskulum interviewed the band.

KREPUSKULUM -  "INSIDE" is a very simplee name.What is the reason to put this name  in the band?

INSIDE - Inside is simple, easy to remember and deep. You can imagine everything your mind suggest you when you listen the word "INSIDE". We like it.
  
 
INSIDE borned in december of 2000, Did you play in another bands before??

Oh yes, in order: Bruno and Andrea played in "Ossyan", prog-metal band, Ago and Vitaliano played in "Regnum Irae", death-metal band, and Ago and Franco played in "Five Magics", heavy-metal band.
 

Jessica has a impressive and powerful voice, maybe she is the great  personal touch in the INSIDE music. Was she play in another bands? What are the influences of her to sing??

Jessica performed as soloist singer until she met Inside. Her influences are singers like Labrie and Matos for technique and vocal range, and singers like Anselmo for power and guts.
  
 
Bruno is a creative keyboardist and his instrument is the creator of beautiful atmospheres. Where come from the inspiration to create these great climates??
 

Bruno listen a lot of music: jazz, metal, rock, fusion, classical. He take inspiration from artists like Tommy Flannagan, Depeche Mode, Ennio Morricone, Kevin Moore, Chick Corea.
 
 
 
The music of INSIDE is very interesting and avantgarde, in your opinion what are the 10 best heavy metal bands of the history, and now, what are the bands that are contributing to the evolution of the style?
 
Oh, thank you very much. We thing that in the Heavy Metal story there are much more then 10 bands that made GREAT this style. The first 10 that we remember are: Death, Pantera, Slayer, Sepultura, Dream Theater, Megadeth, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Testament and now there are Children of Bodom and Dream Theater.
 
The italian metal scene is now one of the most importants of the Europe, in your opinion what are the best italian acts now. Talk to us about the underground metal scene in your country (gigs, labels, zines, etc.).

Yes, in Italy, now,  Heavy Metal scene is better then in the past, thanx to bands like Extrema, Rhapsody, Undertakers and others. In our region, Campania, is different. There are a lot of Heavy Metal bands, but only few places where it is possible to play this music. And this is bad.


Where come from the inspiration to write lyrics like "Inside" and "Now or Never"?

The inspiration for lyrics in our demo-cd come from a dark and perverse observation of reality, like premature death.

The band has 6 members, talk to us about the creative process behind your musics.

Our method is the same for every song: when we are in "our garage", there is one of us that propose an idea.
This is the start line. After, everything proceed automatically until we thing that the song is good. Lyrics are final step.

When are you will record the first full-length? Do you exist some proposal of a label?

Not yet, is this a proposal? :)
