QUEIRON - INTERVIEW
Come
from the most brutal flames of the brazilian underground scene QUEIRON is one
the great new names of extremebrutaltechnic death metal. An infernal machine of
rapping brains and fucked minds, the first full-length “Impious Domination”
is a masterpiece of rigorous brutality! Krepuskulum Interviewed André Neil
(Guitars).
KREPUSKULUM - Talk to us about the QUEIRON history, froom the beginning to the first album.
ANDRÉ NEIL - Well, Queiron was formed 8 years ago, in 1994 by Marcelo Grous (G/V) and Marcelo Moretti (Ex-Bass-Player). This line-up remained for 1 year, creating the songs and in 1996 the band finds the drummer Oscar M. Vision (At the present time he is with the band Zoltar). After this, we released two Demo-tapes: “Crosses that migrate to Hell” (1996) and “Blessed by the Brutality of Evil” and the Split-cd with the band Mental Horror titled “Immortal Blood of Victory”, and after this, Marcelo Moretti decides to leave the band and after 2 mouths, the drummer Oscar M. Vision also leaves the band. They were reaplaced fastly by Tiago Furlan (Bass) And Daniel Toledo (Drums). This line-up recorded the first debut-Cd Titled “Impious Domination” Supported by the label Mutilation Rec. And after this, the second guitar was added turning Queiron to a quartet, André Neil was the chosen one to Brutalize the gigs with two guitars, and now we are divulging our first work “Impious Domination”.
What is the meaning of the name QUEIRON?
What is the reason of play this kind of music (brutal death)?
Since the beginning we play brutal and fast Death Metal and it happened because we always liked bands of this style, and it was the right choice to us.
What do you intend to express with its music? Where come from the fury and hate to compose odious tracks like “Eternal Suffocation” & “Immortal Blood of Victory” ?
When you begin to compose, you need to put your soul there, and what Death Metal must express is Total Chaos, Destruction, the purest hatred proliferating on the compositions. The inspiration comes naturally when you really like what you do.
The music of QUEIRON are very powerful and aggressive but the riffs and soles are very intrincate and interesting. Do you believe that is possible to mix brutality and melody in a death metal track?
I think that it´s possible, a good (and Brutal) exemple is the band Aborted from Belgium.
What do you think about the new melodic metal (melodic heavy metal, melodic black metal, melodic death metal) fashion. Do you like bands like DIMMU BORGIR, CHILDREN OF BODOM, AT THE GATES, IN FLAMES, etc?
I really don´t like these styles, Death and Black Metal must be brutal, it´s impossible to express hatred and chaos with angelical and clean voices, Death Metal is Death Metal and Melodic Heavy Metal is completely different, I prefer to play the songs as brutal as Possible. It´s only a fashion, what brings money are momentary things, wait and this damned fashion will disappear slowly.
The instrumental music “Veni et Vinci” is gret, a impressive lesson of
brutal riffs, thundering drums and bass. Where come from the idea to create a
instrumental music? Do you intend to create another instrumental tracks to the
future QUEIRON releases?
When my friends composed this song, it was to be a normal track with
vocals, but they liked much more just with the instruments and
decided to record an intrumental song.
“Blind Devouts” is in our opinion the best track of the debut album, a
new hymn to brazilian death metal legions!!! Talk to us about the creative
process behind this music and about the meaning of the lyric.
The track “Blind Devouts” is one of the songs which I most like, it´s
from our second Demo-tape “Blessed by the brutality of Evil” and the lyric
was written by our old Drummer, Oscar M. Vision. The meaning of this lyric is
that the same light the people follow will be the same light which will blind
and Destroy their lives.
The band have a new guitar man. Do these fact put more brutality or thecnic
in Queiron music?
The album was recorded with two guitars, Marcelo Grous recorded the solos
and all the guitar riffings, and he thought about to add the second Guitar
because of the gigs, with two guitars it gets more extreme. Of course that it
entangles in much more technic, because one guitar stays totally free to
improvise and to make the guitar solos.
The cover artwork and symbols used by QUEIRON (pentagrams, inverted cross)
are satanic. Are you satanists? Do you believe in god or in another superior
conscience?
Satanism for me is personal thing, it´s what all dogmas shoul be. I feel
more confortable writing about Blasphemy and occultism. All the members within
Queiron think so. We really scorn the christian horde, and we support the
christian holocaust. The only superior conscience lives within the mind,
everything bows to evil. Ad Majorem Satanae Gloriam.
Talk to us about “Impious Domination” reception by the fans and media.
Do you intend to play gigs to promote the album?
The reception is very good within the underground, who used to like
Queiron since the beginning really support us, writing, making reviews at the
Zines, we really respect the underground and we live to strengthen the Metal
Underground. We are looking for gigs to promote the album.
In your opinion what are the 10 best albums of the metal history? And what
are the best bands now?
The ten best albuns of the Metal history are: Onslaught “The Force”; Slayer “Reign in Blood”; Suffocation “Effigy of the Forgotten”, Morbid Angel “Blessed are the sick”, Kreator “Pleasure to kill”; Immolation “Dawn of Possession”; Sabbat “DreamWeaver”; Venom “Black Metal”; Death “Leprosy”; Centurian “Choronzonic Chaos Gods”. At the present time the Best bands in my opinion are Centurian,Yattering, Blood Ritual, Tjusder, Unlord, HeadHunter D.C, Diabolic, Setherial, Blood Storm, Severe Torture and Virulent.

metal scene, what are your favourite bands and labels?
The Brazilian extreme Scene Fucking great! There are lot of Brutal
bands releasing Extreme albuns, Lots of Brutal Fanzines! My favorite bands here
in Brazil are Recidivus, Deformity BR, Decomposed God, Incrust, Zoltar, Lord
Satanael, Nephast, Headhunter D.C. The best labels are Somber Music, Loft Storm
Rec, Mutilation Rec, Evil Horde Rec and Destroyer Rec.
