IMMUNOAFFINITY is the name of one the best new death metal acts
coming from Brazil. The band release its debut album "Slaves of DNA", a
masterpiece of agressivity, brutal guitars and great melodic experimentalisms, where the
bass midtempos and climates are really great! Krepuskulum interviewed André Luiz (bass)

André - The Immunoaffinity was founded by André Luiz (Bass) in 1992. He joins forces with Fábio Alexandre (Vocals and
Rhythm guitars). To complete the line up Pedro Boite (Lead guitars) and Renato Neves (Drums). In 1993 the first record work called "Immunoaffinity" was released with good repercussion on specialized media. Many shows was performed in 1994/ 1995, after that Immunoaffinity stops its activities due to internal conflicts. However in the 2000 AD, like a Phoenix rising, Immunoaffinity returns more aggressive, faster and heavier. To support all those "feelings" it has to request 2 new talent guys:
Rodrigo Magno (Lead Guitars) and Leonardo Pagani (Drums) complete to the definitive line up.
The debut album have a good production for an underground release. Did you work with a producer??
Thank you for words, but we don't have any producer. We prefer produce ourselves.
The thematic behind some of the inspirated lyrics of the album talk about genetic experiments. Where are come from the inpiration to write them?
I'm graduated in biology (specifically in genetics) and Fábio is very interested in biosciences too; I think that explains all inspiration.
Do you believe that the genetic engineering will be create a new human race of DNA slaves?? A new kind of eugeny, like the Nazis in second world war?
It's a real risk !!!! Nowadays we don't have the necessary technology to do that, but we're very close, and if this technology won't have a serious policies control, I think we'll see a new Homo sapiens, maybe the better name to this new specie will be Homo sapiens superior, and it'll not very good to our specie. But at moment we have more serious problems that don't have
appropriated approach, like transgenic food, modified animals, etc .

The creative process in Immunoaffinity is spontaneous and works like a brotherhood, all members could give his opinion, and all of us will hear it.
IMMUNOAFFINITY invests in an interesting bass lines and mix of brutal & soft vocals. This is two reasons of the personality of the band. What are your musical influences? Do you listen another kinds of music like classic & jazz??
Try to define a main influence to Immunoaffinity is very hard, because the members have different influences, and Immunoaffinity is a mix of influences in many heavy metal styles and different kinds of music. Sure!!! All in Immunoaffinity love Jazz and classical music; sometimes in rehearsals we play some jazz themes.
The cover art of the CD is very symbolic e enigmatic. Who create the artwork?? What are the meanings behind it??
Andrei Müller was the creator of the artwork. If you see the cover you'll see a number formed by the babies, and this conjunct basically says: Good and Evil are inside ourselves, don't blame anyone, your faults and victories are yours.
