KANDOR

Avantgarde, creative and atmospheric Black Metal come from Germany...The debut album "After Antichrist" is a masterpiece of beautiful and darkness melodies. Krepuskulum interview ILVMINATVS ( voice, guitar, bass and Synths).

KREPUSKULUM: Talk us a little about the history of KANDOR.

Kandor was formed in 1997 by me and "Dakrian", after leaving germanys blackmetal newcomer band named "Dakria". Our thoughts about creating sound and music were merely different from "Dakria" style. We released our first demo "sieg" in 1997 which had great reviews in Metal Hammer and Ablaze. 1998 "Imperium" was released, but without any reviews in any magazine - our sended tapes amazingly dissapeared...
1999 we started recording the debut CD "After Antichrist" (first title was "Sigillum Sanctum Fraternitatis A:.A:.", which had to be changed because of copyright problems)and while recording singer "Dakrian" left KANDOR with the cause of "personal differences". - Die! -
So i had to do the vox. Finally "After Antichrist" was released in autuumn 1999 and had great reviews in Metal Harmonies in belgium and from leading blackmetal magazine Ablaze.

KREPUSKULUM: The musical proposal of KANDOR has some precedents in new Black Metal (of bands as DIMMU BORGIR) composed by melodies and keyboards. What do you think of the school of brutal Black metal and of Bands as MARDUK, SATYRYCON, MAYHEM and GORGOROTH?

I like this brutal "true" stuff, the problem is their amazingly bad sound! I think brutality needs a powerfull medium, like soundcreation, because thats the way the knife becomes sharp.

KREPUSKULUM: Why does KANDOR sing in German? Do you think of recording in English?

To sing in german was good for our three releases, yet it is time to usemany languages, such as: german, english, sumerian, enochian usw..

KREPUSKULUM: Which your connection with ocultism? You are satanists and really love Lucifer?

I've started up with satanism and occultism, but i never joined one of them officially, because i always knewed this is not the final answer, ther is much more to see...

KREPUSKULUM: Do you believe in the antichrist coming and in the creation of an era of darkness in the earth?

From my point of view of our world and universes, the antichrist has already taken place on earth and is under "control" to rise up. maybe it was incarnated in the early ninetees and is maybe also the sixth million baby...(i hope the real lucifer remembers himself!) Yes, i see the darkness rising in our lives and minds.

KREPUSKULUM: In KANDOR, the synthesizers and keyboards substitute the battery and they are responsible for good part of the melodic climate. Do you believe that the future of the music is electronic?

It is just part of the future, but i think music will be done under all cicumstances, for the next years in music businness...i don't know, but i like the synth sounds.

KREPUSKULUM: What do speak the letters of your debut album " AFTER ANTICHRIST " ? what does symbolize the image in the cover of the CD?

I'm not going to describe the "letters", because it is some kind of secret....The symbol is related to some lovecraftian things and means awakening of your individual "bestiality", which has to be known and not to be feared of.

New songs, new lyrics, new people to join with, creating the next album and earning lots of money.
