Krepuskulum: What does NACHTMAHR mean ?
Azazel: NACHTMAHR is a german word, "Nacht " is "night" in english. The "Nacht-mahr (literally mahr of the night)" (also known as "Alp")is a demonic being, which, in legends and folk beliefs, crawls out at night and creeps inside of houses, even through the smallest gap (like gaps in wooden walls, keyholes, etc.). Inside the house, the Nachtmahr sits down on the chest of sleeping human beings, in this way causing nightmares to the sleeper by taking his breath. Also asphyxiation in sleep was often contributed to the influence of the Nachtmahr in older times. The word Nachtmahr has so become a synonym for Nightmare in german (the other word for nightmare is "Alptraum" - a dream (Traum) caused by an Alp, which is, as said above, another word for Nachtmahr). In other languages you can also find the word in the expression for bad dreams: in english, it´s Night- mare , in french Cauche- mar, in danish mare-ridt (ridden by the Mahr), in Norvegian mare-ritt. the "mare" or "mar" is the same as in german the "Mahr".

The music of the band is a BLACK METAL of brutal proposal, like bands MARDUK, GORGOROTH, BEHERIT, MAYHEM and old HELLHAMMER. Are you influenced by those bands??? Which are your others musical influences??
Surely we are influenced by the above mentioned bands, as we all like them very much. Our other musical influences are for example bands like Dark Funeral, Setherial , Emperor, Enslaved, etc. , just to mention a few, and also - believe it or not - classical music (especially dark music and music by composers of the romantic era).

Do you know some Brazilian band of BLACK METAL as SARCOFAGO, AMEN CORNER, MYSTERIIS, MALKUTH and MYSTIFIER?? What do you think about DIMMU BORGIR and CRADLE OF FILTH??
I for myself (Azazel) only know Sarcofago and Mystifier. The first one is a really great band in my opinion, from the latter I know only one song from a sampler, which is quite a pity, cause I liked this song.
About Dimmu Borgir and Cradle I would say, that these were two really great bands in their younger days; two bands who brought out unique Albums and had a strong influence on the scene. Especially Dimmu Borgir were a kind of secret tip in the beginnig. But nowadays, they really give a kick in the face of every Black-metaller, as they practice the sellout in a really big scale. Everywhere, in every little kiosk anywhere on the world, you can buy postcards or T-Shirts of these 2 bands, and their faces look from every Teenie-pop-magazine....what they utter in the press and their behaviour is not what I would call loyalty to the underground they stem from. I don´t think that metal is still their way of life, but just moneymaking.

In spite of the brutality, your music also possess a melodic sense, with strong influence of the keyboards. Who is the main composer of the band?
There is no main composer, all songs are a mixture of the influences of all members of the band. Everyone contributes by writing riffs and then those riffs are combined and arranged by the whole band.

Which are the connection of NACHTMAHR with occultism and satanism?
Though we all are interested in occultism and satanism, none of us is member of any sect or spiritual circle. As we are all truly Anti-religious, we despise all those, who need a group or herd to know what to do in their daily life. We are our own gods and our own religion and do not accept anyone or anything above Us.

" DE SOLITUDINE ", it is one of Black Metal's most beautiful and brutal compositions that I heard. What does speak its letter ??
The Title, in Latin, means "About Solitude". The text is about the Solitude of mankind, who longs for a god, who doesn´t exist, and prays up to heaven, in which there´s nothing but the deserted halls of eternity. It tells about the fear a christian might feel when recognizing that he´s all alone and responsible for himself and there never was any god who is responsible for all his troubles or whatever. (people interested in the whole text -also in translation- get in touch).

Where was got the beautiful intro of the CD -DEMO ???
The Intro is a passage of a german splatter film called "Premutos". As this film is really a masterpiece, we wanted to make tribute to it by this Intro.
