SURRENDER OF DIVINITY - INTERVIEW
Coming from the
distant Thailand this band is a new revelation of raw Black Metal, an act with influences
by powerful names like DARKTHRONE, MAYHEM, MARDUK & IMMORTAL.The debut album
"Oriental Hell Rhythmics", released by famous malaysian label PSYCHIC SCREAM is
a great surprise, an extreme mix of rotten rifs, from hell vocal & great technic!!!!
Krepuskulum interviewed Whathayakorn (guitar) by e-mail.
Krepuskulum: Talk to us about the band tragectory.
SURRENDER of DIVINITY is a profane name, who give the idea to put this name in the band ?
Whathayakorn: Well, it's
an idea of myself to put this name for the band. At the time we were looking for a killer
name for our band , we're basically need something that can be re-presented our music ,
lyrics and so on. We need a name that similar to " The lost of Christ and his
fucking sheeps" so we just ended up with this name and we guess it suit us ,
perfectly.
Your country is not an Christian nation, Am I rigth? But you
embrace the fight against the Christianism! Is it a paradox??
Good question , we're actually hate and will fight against all those
weak religions 'till our last breath. You could say that Thailand is not a Christian
country. But in reality , Christianity is sweeping more grounds in Thai society.
Many Thai are converting to Jesus-Cunt and those asshole fathers are smart enough to
start brainwash local people in the provinces first. Thsoe locals could not read and
understand their evil minds. So what's the reason why they changed their religions ,
cos being a Chrsitain , you can be baptized from all sins. But you can't do that in
Buddhism. They fear of paying back their evil deeds , it may sounds fucking stupid , but
it's true. As said earlier , I hate all these stupid religions , there're always at its
back with a lot of financial benefits in all religions. In addition , we wish to tell you
that , we're from Thailand it doesn't mean we would confine our performance in Thailand
only. So , eventhough Christian doesn't play much role in Thailand we'll still
must resist it to be out of mankind. Argghhhhhh!!!!!
Are you satanists?? Do you believe in occult powers of Demon
an in the real existence of Hell??
It's obviously , we're condisered oursleves as Satanic band , who
plays Metal only for SATAN . So yeah , we believe in our in the power/force of our
mightiest LORD from Inferno , completely.
The cover artwork of the album is very strange, wath is the
meaning of these idol with 666 in head?? It remember us the demon idol of the beginning of
the movie "The Exorcist", Am I right??
Well , the demon head you saw in our cover is not from The Exorcist
movie , at all. It's a symbol of demon lord in Southeast asian culture. It's nothing to do
with Satanism. We decided to use it , because it can be re-presented , how "Beast
from the
east" we are. So we put the number 666 on the forehead of it , to show people this's
an album of Eastern satanic
, it's also link with the title of album " Oriental Hell Rhythmics" as well.
The new fashion in black metal is the melodic acts like:
DIMMU BORGIR & CHILDREN OF BODOM .What do you think about this bands? Do you like
violins, female vocals and other stuffs?
There's no comment about Gaybands , in opinion metal music is
nothing to do with those you mentioned. It sounds like narrow minded , but I like it. HAHA
How are the metal scene in your country ? Do you have shows
and labels & metal shopings??
I think the Metal scene here isn't too different from others , but
it's just smaller. We have like 10 DM bands and a few BM bands , approximately. However ,
we're still have gig/show 5-6 times a year. But sadly , we don't have many a great
Metalshop in Thailand.
Why do you use the old make-ups with nails in arms and
inverted crosses?? Is the image important for the music??
Spike , Corpsepaint , leather , chain , bullet belt and inverted
cross are something very important for a true BM band in my opinion , that's why we
fuckign love using it. It make us feels very powerful , and as close our Darklord as
possible.
In some musics of the album you talk about satanism Do you
study Satanic doctrines of Anton La Vey????
Yeah ,I read many primitive Satanic books of Dr. Anton Lavey , and we
usually practice his Satanic black mass. but I have studied from many other Magicians too
, Aleister crowley's stuffs for example
In your opinion what are the 10 best extreme metal bands
now??

The record and mix work of the album are great!!! Do you
work with a metal producer??
Thanks for your kind words , but there's no metal producer in
Thailand , and we did produce this album oursleves with much helps of our engineerer.
There's many rooms for improvement in my opinion and we'd try a new studio for our 2nd
album.
What are the plans for the new albun's tour?
We'll probably do a small tour in Southeast Asian countries such as
Thailand Malaysia , Singapore and perhaps Indonesia in the mid of 2001.
