Billy Corgan. "We talks about working together on their new album, but we were so busy doing our album and they seemed to be getting on fine. I helped work on a couple of songs in terms of making suggestions and helped with the general overall idea of the direction they were going in, but he can put it better than I can. I was the devil's advocate."
And he also helped Hole whit their album to.
Billy Corgan: I did work on the new Hole album. You don't have to believe me. I was never supposed to produce, I was supposed to oversee the album. I helped work on the songs. I felt so strongly about the material that I suggested they get a real great producer because I felt the album was going to be brilliant, and that's what they did. And I felt so confident in the producer they got that I didn't need to oversee it. At times they came to me, and I was still involved on an aesthetic level, but beyond that I helped get the album off the ground and I helped write some of the songs and arranged most of them. When the album comes out, you'll see how many songs I'm involved whit, and everyone can decide what my influence is on the overall record. Half the people will hate me because it's not the Hole of old. The other half will hail me as a genius because I've turned them into a proper pop group.

D'arcy and James laugh.
