Due to constant arguments/fights, Dave Mustaine left the
band along with Ron McGovney, and Kirk Hammett joined as the
lead guitarist and Cliff Burton joined as bass. James says, "I
heard Cliff making these incredible noises when I was in a night
club one night. I found out that the noises were coming from a
bass. I couldn't beleive what I heard. I told the others that
we have to get him."
September 27, 1986-
A freak bus accident killed Metallica's star bass player, Cliff
Burton. The band had no bass player. They soon found one, Jason
Newsted, and in no time they were back in the game.
1992-
A show with Guns and Roses went all wrong as Rythm
Guitar/Vocalist, James Hetfeild walked into a wall of flames and
ended up with serious burns. He recovered fully.
