Live in Calgary and Just went Vegan? Here's a few suggestions:
*Get a good Soy Drink:-I like SO(y) Good cause it is a good source of Calcium
and YA need that if yer Vegan
*Eat lot's of rice and beans or different combinations of those two foods with other vegetables because they
create a full protien in combination.
*Having trouble finding good canvas shoes? Me too. There's a big toss up between buying cheap labour or leather. Sometimes I think the best solution is just to buy used stuff. I've been buying stuff from Walmart, but every canvas shoe I've bought there except for one pair has been made in China or Malaysia and has been under 20$, so I don't know if I'll do that any more. Apparently there are good Vegan boots at the Army surplus store in Inglewood. Also, if you have enough money, there's completely Vegan and Environmental shoes made of Hemp or recycled stuff being sold at The Hemp Store on 17thAve. but I think they look kinda nasty.  If you see a non-leather dress shoe with nice fat toes, please Email me.
*Eat a good variety of things, and eat lots (that's my motto, at least). If you decide not to, you'll die.
*Eat lots of onions and garlic. If you decide not to, you'll die.
Also, if I may say so: don't let people attack you on the grounds of  hipocracy. For example : say  you are a vegetarian who wears leather shoes. The fact that you have done something contradictory doesn't give anyone the right to call you an idiot.
The Animal Liberation movement would get nowhere if it took an all or nothing stance. Besides, like any kind of bigatry, or reactionism (such as the antics of the punk rock scene) , people will try to rationalize you  and categorize you for attempting to do something different.  Anything you do at all to help animals to not suffer from human infliction  is meaningful.
