Washington, DC: Patriot Center

January 9, 1998

Last night Oasis performed one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen. I was in the pit for the show and the fans where going nuts. They started the show off with the usual "Be Here Now" which was fantastic. Then went into "Stand By Me" followed by "Supersonic." After that Noel went up to the micraphone and said, "I was told to tell you that you need to calm down and behave yourselves." Oasis played "Roll With It" next and the crowd started hopping. Then their big hit "D'you Know What I Mean?" was played with the propeller lights in full effect. "Cigarettes & Alcohol" came next and then Noel gave us a rest with his four song acoustic performance which included "Don't Go Away," "Cast No Shadow," "Whatever" (which he had to tune his guitar for), and "Heros"(dedicated to "the people who behave at concerts"). An amazing performance of "Don't Look Back In Anger" rocked the Patriot Center and then Liam joined us again for "Wonderwall"(the US favorite), "Live Forever"(which sounded better in Camden), "It's Gettin' Better Man!!" (Noel managed not to break a string on this song last night like he did the night before), and "Champagne Supernova." They didn't play "All Around The World" which disapointed me and my friends very much, but it was still the best Oasis show I have been to. After the last song the crowd was begging for more. Then the band reimerged from backstage and went to their instruments. Noel and Liam started to yell at people who were leaving before the encore. "Hey, get the fuck back here, we aren't done yet!" They played "Acquiesce" and Liam sung, "But everythings depending on the way the wind may fucking blow!" Each band member sounded great and the fact that Noel played "Cast No Shadow" and "Whatever'' was worth the ticket price for me.
