Robianna's Story
Well, actually, I have several meetings. The first occured around
1976. TWO of the Monkee's, Davey and Mickey were singing with Boyce
and Hart. Boyce and Hart had a couple of hits in the 60's two,
so the four joined up to complete the Monkee's. They did a concert
and my college, DeAnza. In Northern Cal. It was a fun concert and
aftewards I met and spoke lengthly with Davey and Mickey. I was
raised in England, in a small villiage called Hatch End. Davey
had been there several times. It's the next villiage over from
Pinner where Elton John grew up. Anywho, apart from being slightly
older looking they were sweet and funny and very nice.
A couple years later, I was working in my parents Antiques business
in Saratoga Cal. My parents were bigtime wholesalers with warehouses
in San Fran, San Jose and Orange. Well, the Dolenzs' became good
customers. I was working one day in the smaller Saratoga shop and
in walk Mr. and Mrs. D. What a suprise for me. For I remember
quite well, every week when the Monkee's would come on my Telly
and the opening theme song would end, "you better get ready, we
may be coming to your town..." and I would wistfully say, "Hatch End? Impossible!"
Little did I know that I would be living in the states and they
would INDEED be coming to my town, and my business !!!!! Whoyeah !
I loved Mickey but you will forgive me if I say that my all time
favorite Monkee was Michael, Or the NEZ !!! I still adore him and his music.
Well, that's it for me. Thank you for letting me share my story.
