Other Kenickie Songs

Unreleased or not on Kenickie recordings

I haven't actually heard many of these songs, and have included them mainly for the sake of completeness.

Rebel Assault
Released on a Slampt compilation called "Electric Jet Mission," it is as rare as fuck but Nessa - bless her soul - has sent me a copy. Now the daunting task of decifering the lyrics awaits...

GaryII
Another rarity. This one is to be found on a compilation called "Camden Crawl." It's a short song (less than two minutes) and fortunately a good guess at the lyrics have been provided for me by that hero amongst men Glenn Griffith. What a grand chap he is. Not content with just being grand, however, he has also sent me a copy, making him actually rather splendid. It's a fast track, a little like Kenix, and pretty typical of Catsuit City era Kenickie. It's got a good guitar sound and big thrumming bass, but it's hard to describe to someone who hasn't heard it - so I'll stop wasting my time...

Untitled acoustic song
The lyrics for this song was taken from BSX's discography in the KFC Webpage. It certainly hasn't been published yet although it may find it's way out as a b-side somewhere. This untitled acoustic song was deciphered by the, frankly, God-like Simon Marson.

It Started with a Kiss
Yes, It's the Hot Chocolate song. This was released as part of an EMI compilation called "Come Again". These Lyrics are for the Original version, I don't know if the 'Nicks did it very differently.

Save Your Kisses For Me
Another cover. Originally performed by The Brotherhood of Man, this song won the Eurovision Song Contest for England in '73. Kenickie recorded it for "A song for Eurotrash" in may 1998, and thereafter it has found it's way onto a spin off compilation album of the same name also featuring the other bands who took part in the show. Actually, it's rather good, and the 'Nicks came third, but it really didn't stand a chance against Bananarama - 'cos they got to do Waterloo... This song is now also a b side on Stay In The Sun CD2
The lyrics were nabbed from Simon Tyers, 'cos I was to damn lazy to decifer them myself.
