obvious ramblings on a normal life
On new designs and a weekend at São Paulo

On Friday after I scanned the pictures from the Ego trip photo section I was so anxious to play with them with Photoshop that I made up something and went home earlier. Unfortunately, every time I get home earlier and my mother is at home she finds thousands of things for me to do, so even though I arrived at home at 2:30 pm I only got to really messing with them at six.

I think the pictures are great (for pictures taken with a point-and-shoot using the timer, anyway), but after I started editing the photos I realized I felt kinda awkward putting my pictures shirtless at my site. But I decided to put them on anyway. Some female journalists do the same, so I shouldn't feel that bad. It's worse for them.

I stayed up until three am setting everything up. What was pretty bad, since I had to wake up at five-thirty the next day. I was going to São Paulo to spend the weekend, and the ride I fixed up was going to pick me up at six.

So, after just two and a half hours of sleep, I was awakened by the computer. I took a shower, and then started to wait for my ride. I nodded off a lot of times on the stairs (they stay right by the front windows) where I was waiting for them.

Rodrigo and Tati, who were giving me the ride, arrived at seven. We went talking all the way to São Paulo. When we arrived there, they left me at the bus station where I could get the bus which would take me to Daniel's house. I arrived there fifteen minutes later, and woke him up when I arrived there. I went to sleep as soon as I put my bag down and found an empty bed.

Daniel woke me up five hours later. We went to eat at the shopping center nearby, where we met Hugo. I hadn't seen him in three or four weeks, so it was nice to see him again. He was wearing this glow-in-the-dark-orange shirt, what made him very easy to spot in the crowd.

We ate and talked a lot, and then went back to Daniel's house. Davi and Spock arrived from Campinas a few hours later. A little after, we decided to go to a RPG store close to Daniel's house. There I found two books which I really wanted, but they were $30.00 each, and I'm nowhere close to having that money to spend. We went to a comic book shop later, where I saw for the first time "Dustcovers", a book which has all of "The Sandman"'s covers, annotated by Dave Mckean and Neil Gaiman. Unfortunately, it was $90.00, so I couldn't buy it either.

I decided to spend $15.00 though and try a few numbers of "House of Secrets", which impressed me a lot. It's much better than I thought it would be, which means I'll start buying it every month, now.

We mainly did nothing but talking the whole day. Everybody eventually came to Daniel's house: Tiago, Mônica, Miguel, Lea, Thais... we had a pretty good time. Thais gave a pretty good neck massage to end my neck pains, while I, she, Hugo, Davi and Tiago had fun saying bad things about people. And telling each other very mean nun jokes.

At night I went to sleep in the same room with Spock. He made some pretty frightening noises while sleeping, probably because of all the dust there was at our room. I don't like to stay awake in bed waiting for sleep to come, because I start thinking about everything that's happening, and I start to wish I had a Special Somebody to share that bed with me... it isn't all that nice. But it'll be solved, eventually.

Woke up the next morning with Spock jumping over me to get out of the room. I got up half a hour later, and went to the living room to play videogames with Spock. A hour later, Rebecca, Daniel's sister and The Feared One there left the apartment, telling us to tell Daniel she had left. Duh.

We didn't do much the whole morning. I slept quite a bit, and then Davi arrived to pick us up so we could go back to Campinas. We got lost on the way back, but, as had happened many times with Davi during the weekend, we found the right way by accident with some help of the Divine Intervention. It was a pretty uneventful ride back home. Davi left me and Spock at my house, and then went to his. Spock and I started calling everybody to come to my home, and they did. We had a good time talking and watching kid's TV shows, and then they all went back to their houses.

Now it's decided. I'm going to quit my college, study for the college tests at the end of the year, and try to get in a Publicity college. I just couldn't stand Computer Engineering anymore. Too much Calculus and Physics, no creative stimuli. The downside is that I'm going to have to quit the choir too. Publicity is one of the hardest courses to get in, so I won't have the time to go to choir's rehearsals.

While I was at Daniel's house, I visited chunk and, at the offramp, went to a random site. I ended up at bitsandpieces, which I found pretty interesting. So today I tried to find it again through chunk. The problem is that the only way to find it is through the "random" link, so I kept on hitting it until I ended up at bitsandpieces again, and bookmarked it. I must have tried it around 20 times!

Got to bookmark some very interesting (and weird) sites. Amy has a very good taste.

I've realized how much I use the world pretty. Gotta stop doing that.
