obvious ramblings on a normal life
On the last four days

Yeah, I know that's kinda stupid title for today's entry, but it's been a while since I've last updated, and I'll probably write about so many things here that I won't have only one or two main topics to put on the title. Last entry's title was kinda dumb, too. But, anyway. I knew it wouldn't be easy when I decided to title all the entries with "On [...]".

So. On Thursday I finally found out how to get my payment at the bank and put it on my account. What means that now I'm only 200 bucks away of getting my camera. On Thursday night I went to a bar called "La Recoletta", where a Tango dancing presentation was going to happen, with dancers from Argentina and live music. Even though I e-mailed all my friends about it, only Kika, Kaneda and Base went there. I arrived there late, because I had to go to Zamp's surprise birthday party at Camila's house before I went to the bar. He was going to arrive with Bruno and a friend of his, but they arrived late, and I had to wait for them to arrive so I could leave. It was very nice to be at Camila's house with the people from college, I hadn't seen them on a while. Eventually he arrived, we sang "Happy Birthday to You", and I went to the bar.

When I arrived there I found Kika, Base and Kaneda already there. Base was on one of his egocentrical phases, so it was pretty hard to keep a sane conversation with him for very long. Fortunately, some friends from the choir were there too, and I kept on going from Base's table to the choir's table for some time until Base, Kika and Kaneda went home. There were around eight people on the choir's table, four girls and four guys. It was pretty nice, because I had never really been on a social ocasion with them and had a chance to really talk to them before.

It amazed me how much shit they can talk about when they're not singing. What's pretty refreshing, it gives you freedom to say shit too without being too afraid. One of the problems of having friends who know you for almost five years (as it happens with the Harem) is that they know you all too well, and know what to expect from you. It's very good to have friends like that, but it's good to be on a new environment sometimes.

I went back home at 2 am, and they had just started playing acoustic guitar and singing pop songs, all of them. They intended to keep on singing until they had payed all they had consumed with music, if the bar's management accepted it. It would take too long anyway, even though it was pretty fun, so I went home.

I accepted the English school's class proposal of giving classes on Friday mornings from 7:30 to 8:30 am, and I hadn't even read the next day's material for the class yet. So I arrived at home and started reading what I was going to teach them on the next day. Then went to sleep on 3:15 am, only to wake up on six am the next day, take a shower and wait for the ride to the place where I was goint to teach.

It was pretty painless, my first class. I had two students, and I was supposed to just keep on talking to them in English and make them speak in English for one hour, using the material as a guide. One of them had real bad English skills, but that's why he's still having classes, anyway.

When I arrived at home my mother told me I had to do a lot of things for her during the rest of the day. I didn't want to go to work, and it seemed she really needed me, so I didn't go to work. I spent the day taking her and Ana Paula to places, doing the groceries with Maria, and baking a cake which turned out pretty good. I also took the time between tasks to finally make the obvious Fan Award logo. Even though no one claimed the 200th hit award, I decided to bestow it (hey, there's a pretty word! Just like "cumbersome") to Kymm. She deserves it.

The stars aligned the right way, so on Friday night, just for a change, everybody had a reason for the Harem not to get together. I decided to go make Davi a visit, who was sick. We talked for a while, until other friends of his arrived and all the hope of an intelligent conversation died with them. They started talking about whether Saulot is really evil or not (if you don't know what I'm talking about, be happy), and other stuff like that. Worse yet, one of them would lay on Davi's bed and start screaming/whining "I want to go out tonight! I want to do something!" and wouldn't stop. So I decided to leave.

On Saturday Daniel came from São Paulo, and Kika, Danilo, he and I went to the movies. We intended to watch "The Full Monty", but when we got there we decided to watch a Brazilian film called "Central do Brasil". It's a WONDERFUL film, worth every penny I spent on the ticket. On the last scene I started to cry so hard, but I still wanted to smile because it's such a beautiful sequence, so I just kept giving this sad smile while the tears rolled down my face. I really do recommend watching it to anyone who has the slightiest chance of doing so. It shows Brazil as it is, the good points and the bad ones, has wonderful actors and a great story, I just can't say enough good things about it. It's very hard for a movies to touch me and make me cry so wholeheartedly like that one.

After that we went to meet Spock at a McDonald's in the shopping center where we watched the movie, and we met Louis and a friend of his. They had watched the same movie, were with the same teary-eyed look. We talked a little, and then Kika, Spock and I went to pick up Miguel and Thais at the bus station where they were about to arrive from São Paulo. After we picked them up we all went to my house, and stayed there just talking for some time. Then Spock, Kika, Danilo and I went to watch "Hercules" on video (Spock and Kika hadn't seen it yet).

Spock and Daniel slept here at my house. On the next day (today) I woke up around 11 am. The four of us went to Spock's house to have lunch there. We also RPGed there, first a AD&D adventure in which Danilo killed me with a touch, and after a Werewolf chronicle which I just didn't have enough attention span to play. I've been getting increasingly sleepier during RPG sessions, lately, what's not very good.

Miguel, Kika, Daniel (Anand), Kil and Jefferson arrived a little after lunch, before the Werewolf chronicle begin. They kept on playing it until 11:30 pm, and then we all went each to each's house. Thais, Daniel and Anand came to sleep at my house. Thais, Daniel and I stayed awake until 2:30am, when the both of them went to sleep.

Since I was having withdrawals from not updating, and I would have to wake up at 4:30am anyway to take Thais to the bus station so she can get a bus back to São Paulo and arrive before the time she has to get in her job, I decided to stay up and write this. It's exactly 4:01am right now, I'll have to wake Thais up in 29 minutes, but I think I can put this on before that.

So, no deep thoughts for today. This is enough
