The HOTTEST New Black Singers
Canadian-born songbird Tamia has lent her heavenly vocals to
three Grammy-nominated projects while still working feverishly on
her anxiously-awaited debut album, tentatively slated for release
early next year. A protégée of legendary music icon Quincy
Jones, Tamia was first introduced as a vocalist on Jones’
blockbuster album Q’s Jook Joint with the tune You Put A Move On
My Heart. The song received a Grammy nomination this year as
well as her duet Slow Jams with hitmaking great Babyface. Her
collaboration with divas Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan and Brandy on
the song Missing You, which appeared on the soundtrack of the
movie Set It off was the third song to pick up a Grammy
nomination this year. Currently, Tamia is enjoying the success
of her latest song Make Tonight Beautiful featured on the
sountrack of the movie Speed 2: Cruise Control, in which she
makes an appearance.
