As of 1-1-98, Femsickliver still has not managed to play any out-of-town gigs. This is due to the busy schedules of the guys, as well as the fact that no one involved with the band can stay sober enough to drive on a roadtrip. Since no one outside of Cleveland has yet had the opportunity to experience Femsickliver live - I thought it would be cool to include reports of their local appearances. If you are brave enough to host the band in your hometown - get in touch with us! We will be glad to drink all the alcohol available and fuck everyone's girlfriends. Now, on with the reports.
12/10/97 - Headlining at the Euclid Tavern - This was Femsickliver's first opportunity to invade the Euclid Tavern. 'Liver arrived during the last opening band, due to the fact that Russ and Phantom were more interested in drinking MD 20/20 than checking out any local 'talent'. Brookpark Rider was nowhere to be found. Upon arriving at the club, a horrible high school skater 'punk' band was playing with their little girlfriends sitting politely in front of the stage applauding. The applause got really intense when they did a Screeching Weasel. The laughter of Femsickliver and crew got pretty intense at this point as well. Russ killed time by telling their fans to stick around for some real punk rock and inviting their girlfriends to a night of pure pleasure. Femsickliver opened their set with an amazing rendition of "Jerkoff Vacation". The skater kids didn't get it and mocked the 2-man line-up and Phantom's AC/DC t-shirt. At this point, Russ and a member of Smith and Wesson threw beer bottles at the mass of skater fags. The crowd immediately dispersed except for one brave individual who threw a bottle back and challanged the band to a fight. His friends saved him by quickly dragging him out of the club. Brookpark Rider made an appearance late in the night fucked up on a drug called GHB and passed out and vomited in the middle of the club. Amazingly, despite the chaos, the show was not shut down which was a Femsickliver first. However, the club didn't seemed too thrilled by the antics.
10/31/97 - Opening for the Mentors at Running Riot - Femsickliver was hyped about this show since The Mentors are one of their biggest influences. Unfortunately, Cleveland proved itself to be a lame city once again. Hardly anyone showed up, the appeal of Gwar and 30 Lincoln (local pop punk fags) must have been too much to resist. However, despite the small crowd, the BYOB policy insured that the 'Liver was ready to rock. The show was supposed to be the band's first as a 3-piece, but the new bass player had an alcohol-related problem with his pancreas less than a week before the show. So it was all up to Phantom and Russ to deliver the goods. Brookpark Rider was right up front, joining Russ in his quest to get some of the punk rock chicks in the crowd strippin. Some feminist type with a mohawk didn't find this too be very amusing and starting yelling some comments about Russ's mom. She quickly left after being assaulted by Russ's drunken wisdom. The band got cut off after only 4 songs due to the fact that the show was running behind schedule. Femsickliver left the stage peacefully, only because it was time for the mighty Mentors to play.
