EDGE INFO
Info On The Edge

Why is he called "The Edge"? Well, I've heard three different stories:
1. Because of his sharp facial features
2. Because of his sharp mind
3. Because he has a tendency to be an observer from the outside, "the edge," if you will.

Edge got his first guitar at the age of 9...he has now amassed a modest collection of about 32 guitars.

Edge's first ever solo appearance was at the 1993 MTV Music Awards. He performed Numb in front a a mini Zoo-TV screen.

Edge had not memorized the words to Numb until he was forced to on the plane ride to the MTV awards.

It is rumoured that many of the songs Bono wrote for Achtung Baby were influenced by Edge's separation from his wife, Aislinn.

Some of Edge's musical equipment is as follows (please forgive me if I have this wrong...I'm no expert on guitars!): Gibson Les Paul Customs, Fender Stratocasters, Gibson Explorer, Vox AC30 amplifiers, Randall combos, AMS digital delay.

Edge almost left U2 in 1981 because he felt being in a rock band conflicted with his religion.

During the PopMart tour, Edge sang several different songs karaoke style, including Daydream Believer, Sweet Caroline, New York New York, San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair),and It's Not Unusual.

It was Edge, not Adam, who played bass on 40.

In the video for New Year's Day, that's not really Edge on the horse...it's a female stunt double.
