The youngest of our five profiles of entertainment biz fathers focuses on Cody Jackson, the lead singer for the southern rock outfit Flint. The twenty-four year old Jackson is a father of two; Ivory, 9, and Jermaine, 7. Because Jackson is on the road so much with his band, he doesn't see his children as much as he would like. "When I first tell people about my kids and how old they are, they give me this look that says 'How has he not been on Springer?'" Jackson says. "But a lot of kids from my neighborhood have kids. From touring so much I can tell you that being a teen in the South is a lot different than in other parts of the country."

Flint's debut album, White Trash Folklore, has met with critical success but that has not translated in the sales department. Still, Jackson has been able to help the children's mother, Alexa Crawford, a stunning model in her own right, "put food on the table" as he puts it. "Even though I'm just beginning to see some substantial cash now, my priorities have always been Ivory and Jermaine and making sure they always have the coolest toys, the nicest clothes, the best dirt bikes."

Jackson, a former professional on the motocross tour, had to give up dirt bikes when he tore his Achilles tendon hitting a stop sign on a country road. That accident led him to Flint but he is still looking to pick up new activities. When we went to talk to him, he invited us to the Pickring Rod & Gun club in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. "It's a pretty cool hangout. First of all, I've always been great with my rod. Secondly, lots of the guys who come to shoot here are cops who have been in televised busts on shows like America's Most Wanted. So when they ask me for my autograph, I always feel like I should ask them for theirs too."

Anyways, back to our focus: fatherhood. I asked Cody what he liked best about being a Dad. He said, "So far Flint has been lucky that everyone seems to like us. But in this industry, people can turn on you pretty quick. I know I'll always have the love and support of my kids. Also, coming from mine and Alexa's gene pool, they are really gorgeous and really talented children so I know I'll be taken care of later in life when they have to look after their old man."

Lastly, do your kids have any big plans for you for Father's Day? "Usually I'm on tour so I just get a phone call." Jackson says. "This year, my girlfriend was really cute. She's a singer too and neither of us are touring that week so she sent me a plane ticket to come and visit her overseas in the new home she just bought. She said it was a Father's Day gift for me-- seeing that it's a day to celebrate the dads... and I guess that's what I am."
