Everyone who has been to a bar in the last couple of years has most likely seen St. Titosburg's FLINT. Considerably popular in our Tri-state area, Flint's Juwan Pilgrim and Cody Jackson along with their new backing band, descended upon St. Titosburg to play a couple of nearly sold-out shows on their recent summer tour. The band's hour and a half set was high energy as a majority of the audience could recall seeing some of the songs performed live at local bars like Kife's or Southern Roadkill and volunteered to sing along. A band that could easily find itself categorized with the folksy California sound of the Seventies, New Wave of the Eighties or grunge-pop of the early Nineties, Flint's musical strength stems from Pilgrim who played acoustic and electric guitars and the mandolin during the show. His music creates an atmosphere that sets the pace for Jackson, a less-than-polished vocalist, who knows how to cause a scene and motivate a crowd with his bizarre yet charismatic stage presence. Looking like a young Bobby Kennedy with dyed blonde hair, Jackson enthralled the crowd in the acoustic part of the show by dedicating one song each to young actresses Jennifer Love Hewitt and Katie Holmes and one to the Sony Playstation that resides on Flint's tour bus. Playing songs from their upcoming debut album, Flint sent the crowd home happy after two encores and a promise to return soon to promote their new album.
