Flint’s Five Fave Recordings of 1998

Skateboard Kulture In Deep South magazine
January 1999 issue

With a recently released album of their own, we asked the eclectic five man Southern band Flint to list of their best five albums of 1998. Funny enough, it seems only one album was good enough to make all five lists.

Pierre Young, accordion/security
1. Flint – White Trash Folklore.
2. Puff Daddy – Come With Me (single). This song makes me want to put on a three sizes too small blue unitard and dance around with a Power Rangers mask on.
3. Korn – Follow The Leader. Flint and Korn keep the spirit of rock music alive.
4. Rancid – Life Won’t Wait.
5. Anything by Whitesnake

Juwan Pilgrim, guitars plus
1. Flint – White Trash Folklore.
2. Master P – MP… da last Don. Magnificent album.
3. Jay-Z – Vol.2, Hard Knock Life.
4. Lauryn Hill – The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. That thing, that thing.
5. Barenaked Ladies – Stunt. Quirky, wholesome fun.

Lance Overmars, bass
1. Flint – White Trash Folklore
2. Dave Matthews Band – Before These Crowded Streets
3. Beastie Boys – Hello Nasty
4. Throwing Plums – Bonjour Monsieur Plum (EP)
5. Gomez – Bring It On

Doug Cherokee, keyboards
1. Flint – White Trash Folklore
2. Tartan Joy – Kiltwearin’ (EP)
3. Garbage – Version 2.0
4. Air – Moon Safari
5. Skywalker Symphony Orchestra – The Star Wars Trilogy

Cody Jackson, singer
1. The Corrs – Talk On Corners. For obvious reasons.
2. Flint – White Trash Folklore.
3. Jennifer Love Hewitt – How Do I Deal (single). Great, great video.
4. Katie Holmes – On My Own. I don’t know if it is released as a single but she sings it in the beauty pageant and looks real nice.
5. Spice Girls - Spice World. I put this down because it's my daughter Ivory's favorite record.
