Joplin,MO--Stylish rock act Flint caused quite a stir at their concert Thursday night marring a strong performance with a fight over their playlist. Lead singer Cody Jackson walked off stage midway through the Florida band’s set over the reported cover of a Bee Gees song. Keyboard player Doug Cherokee played the first few notes of what some older fans thought they recognized as the Bee Gees song ‘Tragedy’. Instead of singing, Jackson stood at his microphone and just said “This is bullsh*t.” and in an unexplainable instant, he proceeded to walk off stage.

After a few minutes of confusion and crowd restlessness, Flint guitarist Juwan Pilgrim stepped up to the mike and said, “Please excuse what I have to put up with on a daily, f***ing basis. Hopefully, they’ll grow up someday but until then let’s get on with it”. Pilgrim handled singing duties for the rest of the set and the band did not seem to miss a beat.

“Step by Step ooh Baby / Doug’s Gonna Get To you girl”. Quoting the New Kids On The Block for some reason, Cody reintroduced himself for the encore to the intense laughter of his bandmates. The obvious shot taken at Doug caused even more confusion amongst the Joplin crowd. Cody apologized to the fans with a smile, “Stubborn men shouldn’t be singers.” Flint showed a lot of the promise pegged for them by rock critics playing songs from their album White Trash Folklore but also showed the controversial behavior that has dogged them recently and overshadowed some fairly good album sales here in Missouri.
