Quality Ratings
OOf course, quality ratings are very subjective. Generally these are based more on the sound and the mix rather than on the content itself. Also I've found it quite hard to be consistant - on listening back to some shows at a later date I'll find I've rated another show higher, that I now think isn't as good. I do try to update these if I find them.
Generally I think you'll find anything rated 9.75-10 to be as good as any official release. 9.25-9.50 being a really good. 8.50-9.00 are generally competant audience recordings which are easy to listen to. Most audience recordings seem to fall into this category. Below that the flaws in the recording will start to get in the way. Above 8 they're still very listenable, but below that I'd suggest you'd really not listen to it that much
Soundboard/ FM | Audience
10.00 | Perfect | Might as well be soundboard |
9.75 | Slight flaws or not perfect mix | Almost Perfect |
9.50 | Some hiss or average mix | Exceptional no talking, Exceptional sound/tone |
9.25 | Noticeable hiss or poor mix | Very Good hardly any talking, very good sound balance/tone |
9.00 | From here on down we're into analogue transfer teritory where there's more hiss, more muddied sound and other crap. Still quite listenable above 8 | Good recording a little talking, good sound balance/tone |
8.75 | Noticeable audience good sound
8.50 | Noticeable audience average sound
8.25 | Noticeable audience below average sound
8.00 | Noticeable audience poor sound
7.00 | Very Poor - just listenable
6.00 | For Collector only |
