First for the Ladies,...

MARY J. BLIGE

Mary J Blige, the queen of New Jill Swing, Queen and Pioneer of HIP HOP at only 26 years old. That's right MaryJane has been around since the early 90's, when she busted out with her first single "Real Love",which you can still hear remixed in clubs to this day. Three successful albums later Mary is still bumping out hits. Mary has worked with artists like Method Man, Lil' Kim, K-ci not to mention Puff,(before he blew up that is). All hail the queen!

LIL' KIM - Money,Power,Respect

She's got the money and the power but for some reason all the controversy surrounding Lil' Kim is making alot of people in the industry wonder if they should respect her. Since her Debut with Junior M.A.F.I.A Lil' Kim has branched out to a release a solo album and let us know that it's all about the Benjaminz! This Queen Bee definitely has skillz no matter how so-called ditasteful or tacky she may seem.

ANGIE MARTINEZ The Butta Pecan Rican

Angie Martinez is definitely representin' all Boricua's! Angie also known as Butta Pecan hosts her HIP HOP radio show called "Ladies' Night" every weeknight from 6 to 10 pm on New York's #1 radio station Hot 97 FM. She's also been expanding into rapping, successfully, she raps on KRS-ONE's newest album, I got Next and mashed up the summer airawves with the track so accurately entitled "Ladies' Night" with Lil' Kim,Lisa (Left eye)Lopez(another Puerto Rican), Da Brat and Missy Elliot. Keep your eyez out for her own debut album out soon!

MISSY ELLIOT

Missy Misdemeaner Elliot and Timbaland and Magoo seem to be blowing up the airwaves lately. Missy though, has been in this game for a long time before we heard that disy\tinctive "HEE-HEE HOW" thing on that Gina Thompson single (where did she go anyways?)"The Things You Do. Originally Missy was in the short-lived quartet Sista, who's only half popular single was on the Dangerous Minds Soundtrack. Missy's talent in writing and producing got her to where she is today, producing multi-million dollar videos and working with artists like Da Brat, 702 ,SWV,and Timbaland just to name a few.

SWV The Mistresses Of R&B

"It's about time,.." was the album that launched Coko,Taj and Lelee's careers. The sucess of their first album released in 1991 led to a remixed album containg the Human Nature Remix of their single "Right Here"(vocals by Michael Jackson himself). Since their debut they have released 2 albums both of which were in keeping with the group's vocal standards, and the lead singer Coko had a baby, which she admits forced her to trim her claw-like nails down about 2 inches!

DESTINY'S CHILD

All of these 4 talented young ladies hail from the South. They say they have know each other for about ten years. All have exceptional voices and a strong beleif in god and family values. Their mother's are their biggest supporters, one is the group's fashion stylist, another the hair stylist! Destiny's Child are presently Touring the US and Canada with Boyz II Men and Uncle Sam, and are enjoying the platinum record sales of their debut album containing that oh so popular single "No No No" featuring Wyclef Jean, and their new amazing single featuring Jermaine Dupri "With Me".

Now for the Gentlemen,...

MASE His World

First of all Mase is 20 years old. his real name is Mason Betha and he was born in Jacksonville Florida, a long way from Harlem where he was raised from the age age 5 on. Mases' long awaited debut produced by you know who "Harlem World" was dissappearing off record shelves before the stores could re-stock!

THE LOX

Believe it or not The Lox were originally discovered by Mary J. Blige. Blige introduced the boys to Sean "Puffy" Combs around 1994. Their two biggest hits thus far have been "Money Power Respect" a duet with Lil' Kim and " If you Think I'm Jiggy,..". DMX, one of the members of the group even has his own debut album out right now, check it out!

BIG PUNISHER

"I'm Not a Player, I Just F$#@K Alot!" You know you love the song! Big Punisher a Puerto Rican originally from the bronx got his first break in 1995 when he was featured on Fat Joe's albumJealous One's Envy. Since, he rapped on tracks with Bone Thugs and the Beatnuts. Now it's his turn, and this Boricua is showin' off his unique bilingual skills on his album Capital Punishment.
