"NICKELODEON CROWNS HANSON WINNERS!"
Q&A From The Kids' Choice Awards!
Many of your favorite young celebrities were in the house for Nickelodeon's 11th annual Kids' Choice Awards to receive distinguished orange blimps, signifying the overwhelming support they've received from Nick fans. Among the stars on hand were Hanson, recipients of two Kids' Choice Awards for favorite group and favorite song ("MMMBop"). After Isaac, Taylor and Zachary posed for pics with their new trophies, they joined us for a Q&A. Here's how it went.
SUPERSTARS: What's something your parents did to embarrass you as kids?
SUPERSTARS: What's the secret to your success?
SUPERSTARS: Have you met any of your musician idols today?
SUPERSTARS: What advice do you have for a new band that's just starting out in the U.S.?
SUPERSTARS: How does the Hanson family spend good quality time together?
SUPERSTARS: Are you planning a tour this summer?
SUPERSTARS: We've heard rumors about a Hanson movie. Any truth to that?
SUPERSTARS: Your web sites seem to be quite popular.
SUPERSTARS: What about the unofficial web sites?
SUPERSTARS: How do you feel about being sex symbols?
TAYLOR HANSON: Well, we're kids, so I think everybody rules. I mean, if you can go out there and do what you love to do and kick butt doing it, then you do, yeah!
ISAAC HANSON: I don't think our parents ever embarrassed us really.
TAYLOR: I don't think our parents are necessarily embarrassing to us.
ISAAC: I don't think it's any secret. Frankly, I think it's just people...
TAYLOR: ...It's about people who voted for these awards. It's about the people, not the records, because we can't do anything without them, you know. We're a little biased--we like our music, but that doesn't matter.
TAYLOR: A lot of them are here. Aerosmith is definitely one of the bands we would love to meet. We got to meet Puff Daddy. You know, you run into people you like all the time.
TAYLOR: I would say for any band, it's just keep doing it no matter what. And work as hard as you possibly can.
ISAAC: Yes. It's a lot of hard work and you've got to remember that the work never stops, but it's also a ton of fun.
TAYLOR: Well, we're always together, so it's always quality time, I guess.
ISAAC: We are going to be touring this summer and we are going to...
TAYLOR: ...we are going to be hitting a few dates in Australia, then Japan, through the U.K., and then we're doing the States and Canada. We're definitely looking forward to that!
TAYLOR: I'd say what we're doing is still what the major priority is, as always.
ISAAC: I mean, music is what we love to do and we're going to continue doing that, and hopefully, doing that successfully. If something comes up that we feel interest in, then we'll pursue that also.
TAYLOR: You never know!
TAYLOR: Oh, yes. We've got the web site. Hansonline.com is definitely something that we're very into. Going on the Internet, visiting the web sites, it's very cool!
ISAAC: The best way to get ahead on rumors and things like that, is to go to the official site, because it has the official stuff, so you can figure it out there.
TAYLOR: I think it's always cool to see different sites because then youget to see everybody's perspective on you and different ideas about songs and stuff like that.
ZACHARY HANSON: You're a weirdo!
TAYLOR: I don't think it's about being sex symbols. It's about doing what we're doing. I think playing music is what it's always been about. But, I guess that's always something that you have to deal with too.
