What advice can you give to kids who are interested in following in your footsteps?

Zac: Not, ah...
Taylor: It’s hard to follow someone else’s footsteps actually, like in the snow or something...
Zac: Don’t ever try that in the snow it’s just, you know, you never quite get on.
Taylor: You’re always like a foot off and you like...
Isaac: You’re always bummin’. No, act[ually], I don’t know, I mean... you just, the important thing is to make sure that what you’re going after that you love what you’re doing and that’s what we’ve always done. This is what we’ve always wanted to and we love doing this and that’s why we’re doing it. And I think that you can’t do it for any other reason except for that you want to continue to do it and enjoy it and...
Taylor: I don’t think our footsteps are necessarily important ones to follow, but I think you should follow your own, just go for it, whatever you want to do.
Taylor: Okay...
Zac: [making weird noises]

Since we’re, ah, we’re here at Planet Hollywood, I was wondering if you guys had ever considered going into the film world as well.

Taylor: I think...
Zac: We’re bad actors! Put it that way!
Taylor: We’re bad actors, yea.
Zac: No, you don’t want to see us act.
Isaac: Yea, we’re definitely interested in, in all kinds of different things. I guess, I guess if the right opportunity showed itself then, then it’s possible we might do something in that area. But, um, we very much enjoy being involved in the music videos, you know. When we did, when we’ve done all the music videos... I guess you could say in a way you’re practically directing the video along with your director because you’re so involved in it and it’s very much, you know, I guess your child or something and you’re going, you're trying to create that thing... and so...
Zac: Walk, walk, walk to daddy!
Isaac: You know, so anyway, but uh, it’s just one of those things and we very much enjoy doing all that and I guess if the opportunity does show itself then we would, we would try it out, but no plans for it right now. Taylor: Yea, no plans right now.
Taylor: Okay.

How do you guys like Chicago? Taylor: Um, it’s very cool so far, obviously it’s very loud and you guys are very quiet right now so it’s cool. But, um, it's gonna be... last time we were here we played a short show at Rosemont Horizon and that was a really good show [crowd screams], but um, thank you guys.
Isaac: And because of the incredible response that’s why we’re back.
Taylor: So... to do an actual show. So we’re just looking forward to playing. I guess we’ll find out tonight now much we really like Chicago.
Isaac: So far we’ve, so far we’ve enjoyed ourselves very much.
Zac: Or how much MORE we like Chicago.
Isaac: Yes, how much MORE we like Chicago, exactly. So, um, we’ve really have had a great time and we really enjoy the city, so hopefully we’ll be back.
Taylor: Cool.

I host a local kids show on FOX, you guys recently did some cartoon intros on FOX, and I was wondering if you guys could say "Hi" to the kids and check it out?

Taylor: Okay, hi kids, check it out. Thank you. Okay, there you have it.

This is kind of a two part question. We’ve read and heard a lot about the old music that you guys have listened to from your parents and stuff. Um, who would you be excited to meet the way your fans would be excited to meet you and who, what are you listening to that’s more current?

[The crowd starts ooohhhing]
Taylor: What was the “ooohhh?” What was the “ooohhh?” Is that like? Do you guys like him or something?
Zac: First of all, it wasn’t actually our parents’ records, it was before their time.
Isaac: That was actually kind of quite ironic I guess.
Taylor: I think we just listen to everything right now. We listen to everything from those original records, you know Bobby Darin, Otis Redding, all those rock ‘n’ roll, ‘cause that’s just great music... but, anything now too from Oasis, you know, to Natalie Merchant, to Radiohead to anything, I mean you just, whatever’s on the radio. We listen to all kinds of different things. But, um, yea Zac is right. It's actually funny because the music we originally heard was even before our parents’ time. That was just great music I think. It was a cool thing to be inspired by.
Zac: As, as far, we... I mean, we don’t... we’re not that... people to react the way you guys do. We’re a little, you know, would react... [has trouble finding the right words]
Taylor: It’s always cool to get to meet people that you’re fans of, totally.
Isaac: And we have gotten a great opportunity to meet a lot of different people... we’ve met Aerosmith, we’ve met Bon Jovi, we’ve met Tool...
Zac: Slash
Isaac: All kinds of different people. You know, it would take a long time...
Taylor: It’s just cool to get, it's always cool to get to meet people that you’re a big fan of and you walk up and you’re like “Oh my god!”
Isaac: Actually we met a rock ‘n’ roll legend... we met Ringo Starr. We actually did a part in a video of his, so...
Taylor: It was cool.
Isaac: So it’s always very cool to get to meet people like that. I mean, he’s a Beatle! It's pretty awesome.
Taylor: Definitely cool... I see a hand.

After this whirlwind tour what are you guys gonna be up to? Take a vacation?

Taylor: Umm, no vacations.
Zac: Ever!!
Taylor: There’s like sound effects from the back.... like aaahhh, ooohhh, aaahhh, ooohhh, aaaaahhhhhhhh, you know! Um, We’ll probably be doing the next album. That’s the next project. Really, the tour was... we had been been talking about doing the tour for a long time and really it’s just over the summer so we can get back into the studio, that's the most. So we’ve been trying to balance playing shows and also, you know, getting back in to do the next record.
Isaac: And the tour has been going incredibly well. We’ve actually extended it quite a bit longer. We’ve actually extended it almost two months from the original plan. It's gone really really well and we've enjoyed getting to see everybody in all the different cities.
Taylor: From all the different shows.
Isaac: It’s been very very cool, so thank you guys for...
Taylor: Being here today.
Isaac: Being here, yea.
[screams from the crowd]
Taylor: You know what? [responding to someone in crowd] Hey guys! [crowd screams] How many people are back there? [screams again]

Molly Wolfe, [?] News Service. Any plans to reissue Boomerang on Mercury?

Taylor: No plans, no. I mean I think it's kinda, it’s scary enough for people to hear. We recently released a record called 3 Car Garage which was our second independent record and people joke about you know the prenatal years and things like that, so...
Zac: No, when they hear that it’s like... the womb.
Taylor: So I think you want to go forward and not backwards. That’s definitely stuff we’re proud of, but it’s, um, it's a whole different Hanson so I think we'll probably go forward instead of back.

Do you guys have any specific goals for your next album in terms of style or subject matter, anything like that?

Taylor: Um, I don't think you... [interrupted by oohs and ahhs]
Isaac: [laughs]
Taylor: Ooohhh, aaahhh... I don’t think you can ever really plan that. I mean it's kinda like you just write songs and you sit down in the studio and you start throwing things out and whatever comes, comes, you know, and that’s almost the only way you can do it, but...
Isaac: I mean, there will definitely be differences in the record, because they're different songs and it's different, it’s just different, but you never know exactly how a record is going to turn out until you finish the record.
Taylor: It's all, I mean... Until the end nobody really knows. So, I mean it'll definitely be different just because music evolves. We’re definitely looking forward to it.

Taylor: What was that? I’m sorry.
Taylor: Oh, okay, thank you.

When do you guys find time for all your school work?

Taylor: Well, right now we’re on summer break, so it's very good.
Isaac: That's very good.
Taylor: We like that. You guys like that too I guess. But once the school year starts again we just travel around with our books. Our parents have always taught us and when we’re home, we homeschool, when we’re not, we hotel school.
Zac: And when we’re not at a hotel, we bus school.
Taylor: We bus the entire school sometimes. No, the entire school is our family. We just travel around and learn about the things that you see and do all that stuff on the road. It's cool. It works well for being Hanson.
Isaac: I notice she's been raising her hand for a long time... [laughs]... for the heck of it. Zac: You have to wait for the mic.

Are you guys gonna release, um, like a tour video or a live cd?

Taylor: We actually, we’re gonna be releasing both, yea. We’re gonna be doing, we're working on, we just recorded the record in Seattle and also we did the video there, so, we're gonna, both of those things are gonna be released, so we’ll see what happens. Those will probably be coming out right after the tour ends so we're gonna be working on that definitely.
Isaac: Yea.

What’s your secret unfulfilled dream?

Isaac: What's our secret unfulfilled dream?... Umm...
Taylor: To meet every single person here...[screams] um, that's gonna be, unfortunately I think that’s a hard thing to fulfill, but... it could take a while! It could take a while. Um, I think our... what? So you think we can right? [screams] I guess that’s that.
Isaac: I actually think that the, this, doing this and doing music and being the band has actually been a dream of ours since we were even younger than now and I think the fact that we’re able to do this and that we’re able to do a concert and be here at Planet Hollywood doing a press conference and you guys all being here is definitely a dream so we very much appreciate everybody that’s here, both reporters and fans and everybody so thank you guys very, very much.
