The fine young HANSON men will greet the new year with new haircuts and a new (as yet untitled) album. "The songs are a little more rock & roll than our other stuff," says ISAAC, phoning from an L.A. studio. "Some have old R&B and gospel choruses, and we're having a choir come in. That'll be really fun. The boys wrote most of the songs on the road, in hotels and at rehearsals. "There's one called 'You Never Know' that we did when Tay came up with this piano riff at sound check," Isaac says. The album is being co-produced by Stephen Laroni, who worked on Middle of Nowhere. "We started working with RIC OCASEK," says TAYLOR. "We did three songs and decided it wasn't the direction the album was going in, but we made a good friend, and I think we'll work with him later on." There's one more thing you need to know about Hanson: ZAC's a Pepper. "I favor Dr. Pepper, yes," he says. "It's one of the sweeter colas."
