A DAY IN THE LIFE OF HANSON!

After a wild summer that included their first concert tour, Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson are back in the studio recording their next album, to be released sometime in the spring. In order to keep their fans' appetites at bay until the new CD comes out, Hanson squeezed in some time for a few projects, including an upcoming tour video [stay tuned for a giveaway in our next ish, TEEN BEAT February--on sale November 10]. So, just how busy was Hanson this summer? To give you an idea, here's what a typical day was like for them.

Any Time To Go To The Bathroom?

While everybody knows that the Hanson bros call Tulsa, Oklahoma home, whatever hotel the boys and their family are staying in is their home base. Depending on how late the boys get in the night before, they typically wake up around 8 o'clock, get ready and have breakfast together. The first order of business for Ike, Zac and Tay is school work. Either dad, Walker, or mom, Diana, leads them through lessons in history, math, English and science, while the boys follow along with their text books. Afterward, they complete assignments using a laptop computer.

While there's no school bell when you're home-schooled, Mr. and Mrs. Hanson soon remind the boys that, after a quick lunch break, it's time for rehearsal. Ike, Tay and Zac then get swept off the their concert venue for that night in a van with tinted windows [otherwise they'd get stuck in a traffic jam of fans]. The boys meet up with their support team, which includes their tour manager, technical support people and, of course, their parents, to work on some vocal warm-ups. Once their harmonies sound perfect, the Hansons squeeze in a couple of press interviews and then get escorted to their dressing rooms to choose outfits for the evening's performance.

From the Top

After the roadies have gotten all the equipment set up on stage, Hanson hops on for a sound check to make sure their instruments and microphones are all tuned and arranged properly. Once the bros are satisfied, they head back to their dressing rooms to relax and psych themselves up for the big show, while a crowd of thousands files in to fill every last seat in the arena. From backstage, Ike, Tay and Zac can hear the claps and screams of the excited audience, and just before they whip themselves into a frenzy, the boys come running out on stage and are greeted with roaring approval.

After jamming for about an hour and a half with a short break in between, Hanson chills out backstage for a moment to catch their breath before they are greeted by VIPs, more press and lucky backstage pass holders. When the last hand has been shaken, autograph signed and photo taken, Zac, Ike and Tay jump back in the van and head back to their hotel for some much needed sleep.
