Darkseed was found in the summer of 1992. Their intention was to create a melodic death metal with melancholic atmospheres. Much like atmospheric death metal.
Darkseed managed to release two demos in two years of their existence. The demos are; "Sharing the Grave" and "Darksome Thoughts". Some of the songs from these two demos were published by several international CD-sampler. In 1994, they released a mini-CD entitled "Romantic Tales" whick was released by Invasion Records.
After the success of that mini-CD, Darkseed signed with Serenades Records. With this label, Darkseed had released a debut album in 1996; "Midnight Solemnly Dance". This release saw a major change in Darkseed's music style. No more the "growling" vocals. They start using clean vocals, fast music but melodic and even female backing vocals. The success of this album had made Darkseed received a major deal with Nuclear Blast.
1997 saw the birth of second full lenght from Darkseed. "Spellcraft" was released under Nuclear Blast. Heavy riffing, melodic music, acoustic parts and female vocals with some violins, piano and other musical instruments were included in this release. Sticking to their music style, this album proved the ability of Darkseed.
With this release success, Darkseed toured Europe with Evereve, In Flames and others. With these bands also, they appeared in a live video which includes also the first Darkseed's video; "Falls Whatever Falls". They contributed a song, a love song, in Beauty in Darkness 2 which exactly a good song. A very good indeed.
