Tears spring to her eyes, and I want to shoot myself for upsetting her.

"Yeah, Jamie and I are separated, and we're trying to work on it. The one thing that we have going for us, one of our strongest points, is we're the best of friends," she says, looking incredibly sad and dejected. "I mean, he's the best friend I've ever had in my life. I know in my heart that we'll remain friends because we are so close. As hard as it is being separated, at the same time I have hope for the future for us, and if not, I know that we'll always be in each other's lives. I've never been in love before except for Jamie. I don't even know if I could be in love again after him. I mean, I love him so much." There's a pause, and then finally she smiles. "I know it would take a very long time, but I guess I believe love will come into my life again."
