Louisiana Lowdown
By Paul Sanchez (sung in the past by Paul, on new album by Fred LeBlanc)

I assume you know how the main riff goes as far as strumming technique.
The chords are D#=068886 and C#=046664, sorta |D# D#|C# x5|D# D#|C# x4 D#|
(That's the chords played in the intro, between lines, and the outro)
I will call this [riff] below.

The little picking at the end of each verse line is just strings 1&2 held
on the 8th fret...you sorta have to mash down your finger on that fret
from the D# chord and just fudge it. I will refer to this as [pick].

G#=466544 A#=688766	Gm=355333 Cm=335543

D# [pick]
My eyelids said four-thirty
D# [pick]
and the radio clock said six
	  G# A# [riff]
and I was thinking up a reasonable excuse
D# [pick]
I might have slept through yesterday
D# [pick]
but in the shape I'm in
       G# A# [riff]
what's twenty-four hours more or less to lose

Chorus:
Gm Cm
I've burned up letters and I've burned up souvenirs
Gm Cm
and left no traces, Lord, that I was ever here
    D# G# A# [riff]
and I won't be Lousiana Lowdown and Blue

All verses are the same progression as this.

Bridge:
A# D#	[pick]
I saw a stranger smiling at me yesterday
A# D# [pick]
and it scared me almost half to death
A# D# [pick]
I wanted to hide I wanted to run away from her
A# [riff]
Instead I closed my eyes and she wasn't there....

That's it...note I used the new "Fred lyrics" from "Are you with me?"
