2000 Archive

12/13/00 As a Christmas present for my cats, I gave them their own website! They're very excited. Read what they have to say HERE.

In other news, I saw the new D&D movie last weekend. OUCH! Let's just say it would be a great movie for Mystery Science Theater 3000.

11/29/00 The TMBG show was awesome! They played "Fingertips"!!! How cool is that? OK, so that probably doesn't mean much to most of you. Let's see what else is happening:

The Arthurian Music List: Several updates thanks to Robert M. Vermaat, webmaster of Vortigern Studies. More to come.
The Viking Music List: This just in: VINTERSORG (of Vintersorg, Otyg, and Havayoth) is officially the new vocalist for BORKNAGAR!
Women in Metal: The excellent site Les Filles du Metal has moved. Go there for all your female metal news.

11/15/00 Thanks to everyone who has emailed me recently. I got new Dark Tranquillity mondegreens, some Skyclad puns, and more Arthurian music which I’ll get to later. Halloween has come and gone and we had a kick ass party! I dressed as a pirate, as did 2 of our guests. Beth dressed as Dorothy (from the Wizard of Oz), and we also had Medusa, a ninja, 2 belly dancers, a couple of birds, a fairy, a princess (Matt), and Sam the Monkey King!

I picked up the newest album by The Gathering, and as always its very different and very good. Some of the other bands I've been listening to include Gamma Ray, Skyclad, and Anathema. Also, this Saturday I'll be going to see They Might Be Giants which should be a lot of fun!

Latest updates to the site:
Skyclad Puns: Still waiting to get my 'Folkémon' CD. In the meantime, Michael Francisco sent me his interpretations of many of their older songs, some of which I have added to the list of puns.
Midway Through Infinity: Updated the mondegreens section.

10/11/00 First and foremost, Beth and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary. Yay!

Lately, I've been listening to the new Ayreon, lots of Helloween, various gothic death metal bands, and FAITH NO MORE. I don't know why, but I've ignored them a lot recently. Probably because I was disappointed with 'Album of the Year'. I only kinda liked that one, but all of their other albums still rule! So, I've added a long overdue link to www.fnm.com on my Links page.

Regarding the website, I have the following comments:
The Arthurian Music List: I'm impressed at how much this has grown since I started it, but its been slow. There's surprisingly little out there, but I will continue to update it as I find new stuff.
The Viking Music List: I don't update this much anymore, mostly because I've grown tired of the whole trendy scene. If you know of a band (or better yet, are in a band) you think should be added to the list, please email me and I will do so. Otherwise, you won't see much change there.
Metal Mondegreens: I just added 2 new ones, but mostly I've been updating the actual lyrics, thanks to the The Biggest Metal Lyrics Page In The World! I also changed the pictures at the top of the page. I hope you like it…
Skyclad Puns: Only 14 days until 'Folkémon'!
Women in Metal: I would love to spend more time on this list, but its just too overwhelming. So many women, so little time! I will continue to update this list whenever I have the opportunity to do so.
Midway Through Infinity: This seemed like a good idea at the time! The page will stay up, but unless I get some positive feedback from people, I won't be updating it anymore.
Backpacking with Phil: Poor neglected Phil! I will update this page soon with information on some of the places we went this summer. After that, it will probably stay the same until next spring.

To everyone whose helped build this site over the years (whether through contributions, or because I stole stuff from you) – THANKS!
