WHOODOO AND HOODON'T ?

The Poll section will be updated each time we have a poll, which I'll put up in the What's New Section. If you haven't been here before, below is a poll which took place recently. The poll details are here. Don't Vote In This Poll...We'll have a poll again in the future.

I can't wait to compare between the results of this poll and Living Colour Super Hits, a CD to be released on January 27th 1998.

1. Living Colour Poll

Here are the final results to the internet poll as decided by Living Colour fans on the web. I got a reasonable amount of votes which took a while to process, and the reults are interesting. Thanks to everyone that voted. There were some restrictions, though, such as only the songs from their LPs; this cuts out some great tracks like their covers of Burning of the Midnight Lamp and Final Solution, but I felt it would be better to find Their greatest hits. However, Memories Can't Wait was still made a selection. I think most people took this into account anyway. So here they are:

20 Information Overload

One thing that's obvoius straight away is that 5 out of the top ten songs were from Stain. Most of the songs in the top 20 (11/20) came from Stain, which possibly shows a trend that fans going for the new(er) Living Colour. Eleven Stain songs is not bad considering only WTFF and Mind Your Own Business didn't make the top 20.

There were 2 tracks which didn't make anyone's top ten: Tag Team Partners and Ology1 (both great tracks none the less), and there were also a lot of tracks which only one person voted for. Open Letter (To a Landlord) was not voted for in the first stage of the poll, then some fans of the song decided to vote in.

The song which most people voted for in their top 10 was Bi, followed closely by a three-way tie for 2nd place of Nothingness, Go Away, and Cult of Personality.

Leave it Alone had the most votes for number 1, followed by Type.

Another interesting point is that Pride, supposedly their Greatest Hits, failed to include some 'vital' songs from the top ten; maybe this was because Pride was targeted at a new Living Colour audience, and thus included the more commercial songs.

People that voted for songs outside the restrictions had their votes still counted but without the missing songs. Thanks for being early birds, though!

Here's a comparison of the songs of Pride and the songs from our vote. I'll replace the missing Pride songs with the ones from above and keep in the new Pride songs. (14 songs in no order)

What's You Favourite Colour? What's You Favourite Colour?

I guess if they kept "What's your Favourite Colour?" since it's the theme songs, and possibly the live Memories Can't Wait because it's a live version, they (or we) weren't far off.

Best Living Colour Album

Stain was the album voted by most people as their best, followed by Time's Up and then Vivid.

Number 1, CP Time, was far and away the most popular song. Most people gave it their number 1, and almost everyone else put it in their top 5. As for the rest, we can't say too much. Some people voted for tracks which others didn't, but it was fairly consistent. Noone voted Call Waiting to Exhale in their top 5 tracks. Here's my top five:

My Top 5

1. You Say He's Just a Psychic Friend

2. What's My Name

3. Uptown Drifter

4. CP Time

5. Freshwater Coconut

However, I think every track on that album's an experience!
