Well, I've only seen Moz live once, and that was the Wembley show. I went to London Guildhall University in the fall of 1995 as an exchange student for the semester. The first day I got in town, I was walking around with my new roommates I had just met. We passed a ticket agent, and there was a sign that said: "David Bowie + Morrissey Nov. 14 & 15". I totally FREAKED out. They probably thought I was having the big one. They didn't want to pay £32.50 (oh, that's about $46) to see him, not that they disliked him; they just didn't like him that much. I ordered the ticket then and there. It took about 5 & 1/2 grueling weeks for them to finally get it in. (I wasn't very happy about that.) I got the ticket. Then I started worrying that Wembley Arena was Wembley Stadium, and my seat was in the nosebleed section. I freaked out again, so I took the tube to Wembley and the lady showed me where it was on the layout of the arena, and she told me twice that it was a good seat. The night of the concert, I go to my seat, (they didn't find my camera!) and it was on the third level up. The view was good, but I'll just say that I'm glad I had my friend's binoculars. He played for exactly an hour, no encore. I couldn't believe I was there the entire time. All I could think before the show was, "Oh, my God!" I couldn't believe it was over when it was. I wanted to cry.
29-11-95 Aberdeen: I had a week off from classes, so I went up to Scotland with a Rail Pass I bought before I left home. I first went to Edinburgh for 2 nights, then to Inverness for 2 nights, and I stuck Aberdeen in for 1 night so I could go to the concert. I get to Aberdeen at around 8 something that morning. I make my way to the hostel I was staying at, after a long time. I had written Morrissey a letter on the train that morning. I made it my goal before I even got there that I was going to be the first person there for the concert, because it was all standing. I couldn't go to sleep the night before because I realized that I might see him go into the building. Back to Aberdeen, I dump my stuff at the hostel, walk a ways. I found a florist, and bought 2 gladioli. I buy an envelope for my letter. Then I catch a cab to the Exhibition Centre. I got there at 10:30 that morning. I was the first person there. People started showing up later. 2 girls came from Japan. It was so cold. And take into consideration that the show didn't start until 7:30 that night. I met some neat people. Some person working there came up to me at some point and asked if I needed any help. Then he told me that they wouldn't be getting there until 4 or half past. Later he told me that they would be entering through the very back. So I was waiting for the time. I met these 2 guys who met Morrissey that afternoon at his hotel. When busses started arriving, they said that they were going back to the hotel after the show. I invited myself. They said ok. Then the band bus came up and Jonny, Alain, and Boz got off. Those guys said that Spencer took a cab or something. Moz was coming in his own car. I asked a guard how much longer and he said until right before the show. I got back into the queue. At 6:15 they finally let us inside. We all ran inside and I was front and center. I couldn't believe it. I had my camera and a tape recorder. We were all so excited. At 7:30 we were pumped and ready. Then at 7:45 we were thinking, "He's coming out at any minute." Then there was an announcement that the show was cancelled because he wasn't feeling well. He was sorry and you could get a refund up front. We were so mad. I couldn't believe it. So we queued up for the returns. Then the guys said that they weren't going to the hotel, they just wanted to get drunk. Then they changed their minds and after we got our money, we left for the hotel. We got to this place, and it was the fanciest hotel I've ever been to. There was a guy outside in a kilt playing the bagpipes as people came inside. There were violinists and others in all different areas of the lobby. It looked like a castle. Boz was in the bar. As we walked in, Alain walked out. We got a drink and sat down (4 of us total). We were talking and then Boz joined in to our conversation. He told us that Moz told them 15 minutes before the show was supposed to start that they wouldn't be playing. They didn't even know what was wrong. Then he went somewhere, he said he would come back. When he did, he brought Jonny. We got autographs. Boz went somewhere. Then we got photos. I told Jonny that he could go get the rest of the group for photos. He went and Spencer came in. He left before we could ask him for anything. Oh, and Moz had left from the ex. centre, to the hotel, packed up, and left for London on the bus. Boz came back for a few minutes, Jonny stayed for another 30 or so minutes. We left when he left, went to one guys house, got a cab, went to a pub, and got drunk. I caught a cab to the hostel before they wouldn't let me back in. I passed out (not literally, I don't think), and woke up the next am and got on the train to London. What an experience!
