Rapid Fax Interview, August 21st (thanks so much to the ever cool Neeka for typing this up) KR= interviewer, Kathleen Rajsp GR= Gavin Rossdale DG= Dave Grohl KR- Earlier this week we did an Intimate and Interactive with the Foo Fighters, and I was outside...you've done one of those shows...and umm... GR- Who? KR- The Foo Fighters, and... GR- Oh, is that Ringo Starr's new band? ***concert clip of Bush*** KR- How about this whole Foo Fighter's deal? GR- I don't know, that's more Dave's problem than mine. I've never even entered into it, I've just sort of...again, you know, been on the receiving end of it and thought that humour was the best way to deal with it, and just sort of laugh about it, and laugh at him, really...Just think, you know, worry about your own music. KR- I've been reading and hearing about you guys and Bush...is that just a friendly comradarie or what's up with that? Nate Mendel- That's been all worked out, hasn't it? We were talking about maybe doing a tour together (laughs). KR- Is it true? DG- Yeah, we're gonna have them open up for us on our next intimate club tour. GR- I don't want to fight with anyone like that, cuz I think it's really pathetic, you know? ***clip of Everything Zen*** KR- Was that just a media thing? DG- You know, I think it's probably more of a personal thing than a media thing...it doesn't have to be a media thing...but it is, so... GR- And, uh...if someone was to come up to me and confront me personally, then I'll understand, but I saw him the other week and he didn't say anything to me. He sort of, like, stood far away and was really quiet. It sort of makes you wonder why anyone would bother... *** clip of Everlong video*** DG- Who cares, you know? It's not really that big a deal, you know? KR- Yeah. DG- I don't like Tears for Fears either, so... Actually, you know what, I did like Tears for Fears when I was a teenager KR- laughs GR- There's enough bad things in this world, you know? We make music to experience and enjoy and lose themselves in and stuff... KR- Yeah. GR- and people that can...that can slag off other bands usually are trying to cover up something for themselves, I would think.
