Fire in the Head - Bass Tablature
from: The Edges of Twilight by The Tea Party
transcribed by Jay Gibbes

The tuning I have is DGDG low to high. I know it is not the same as
the guitar tuning for this song; I tried it that way and I felt that I
could play with more feeling with my tuning.

I suggest you play this with the recording the first few times; since
I can't tell you exactly how long to play each note, and the bass
doesn't really carry too much melody, it will be hard to play from this tab
until you know it better. I have spaced the notes to try and give you an
idea of how long to hold them. I have also spaced the lyrics so that the
first letter of the word is above the note it is sung with.

Don't worry about the exact notes and rhythms all the time;
concentrate more on how it feels. Even Mr.Chatwood doesn't play it the same
all the time. He changes it a little here and there to keep it interesting.
A few times below, I have given you a note in brackets that you can use to
replace another note (I didn't give you any notes that are not played
somewhere in the song).

sl. -- means slide
(0) -- means you can substitute this note for another

Come in when the song gets heavy.

Listen . carefully to the bass in the song. I made up a different

. some loud drums are played); you won't miss it if you don't
play . it. You can also play the open string, which
also is played in the . song.

Subject: Bass tab for Fire In The Head

This is Anthony Radik and Peter Barta's interpretation of
'Fire in the Head' by The Tea Party.
Thanks to Paul Stipack and Sean Pederson for guitar tabs.

The song seems to be in drop C.
Chatwood plays it with a pick and distortion.
Try playing quite near the bridge to:
1) Help get a bit of distortion
2) Stop the C-string rattling so much

Bass volume starts at zero. About 6 bars into the intro,
C-string 2nd fret is plucked and faded in.
This sounds pretty bad anywhere except in a studio,
so I usually just shut up until the end of the intro.
