Leave It Alone

This is the first of the new tabs from the album Creature that I will tab. This song is really great because it starts off simple and grows as it goes along. Plus, this song is pretty easy to play, except for the ending that has a few weird chord formations.

INTRO:

The Bass begins playing an open low E. The Guitar then begins a few seconds later playing notes around this formation, there is no real need ot tab out every note, since it is almost improved.

E-----------------------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------------------------
G-----------------------------------------------------------
D--2------2-----2------------2-----4---4---4----7---4---
A--2---2-----2-----2-----2-----2----2---2---------2---2-
E-----------------------0-----------------------------------

VERSE:

For the verse parts, there are 4 chords used. These chords repeat in the same order, and use the formations like so:

E--------5------7------5-----5-----
B--------5------7------5-----5-----
G--------5------9------7-----5-----
D--------5------9------7-----7------
A--------7------7------5-----7-----
E--------7------7------5-----5------

	play these until the pre-chorus.

PRE-CHORUS:

I define pre-chorus as being the little bit before the chorus, in this case, it is where Dave sings "I came to burn the sky..." This part uses 4 chord positions as well. Listen for the changes.

E--7------7------4------5-----
B--7------7------4------5-----
G--9------7------4------5-----
D--9------9------6------7-----
A--7------9------6------7-----
E--7------7------4------5-----

Repeat these chords until the chorus.

CHORUS:

The chorus is pretty easy once you have the pattern down. I think Mark plays it using open chords, but I tabbed it higher on the neck, since it is in my opinion easier to play. There are 4 chord positions in the Chorus, again, listen for the changes.

E----7----9-----6----7-----
B----7----12----9----10---
G----9----11----8----9----
D----9----9-----6----7----
A----7----9-----6----7----
E----7----9-----6----7----

Repeat Verse and Chorus part again.

SOLO:

I ahve to admit, this is one of may favorite solos to play, and it is really quite easy compared to ones that I have done in the past. My symbol for slide is '/ ' and bend is '%'

G-------4-4--4-4-4--7-5-4-0-4--7-5-4-0----2-----2-------------4--4--4-4-4--7-5-4-0-4-7-5-4-
D-2-/----------------------------------------4-----4-----4---2---/------------------------------------

G-/-7--9--9-----9--9-9--9-9-11--%11--11--9--11-%11--11--9--11--11--9-7-9-7-6--9-9-9-9

B-----------------------------10----10---12--15--12--15--12--/-
G-9-11--%11--11--9-7-9------9----------------------------------

Repeat Pre-Chorus and Chorus again.

ENDING:

This part gave me a little trouble, the chords are not regular ones. The 2 chords played towards the end (While Dave is still singing) are played like so.

E--7------7------
B--10----9------
G--9-----9------
D--7-----7-----
A--7-----7-----
E--7-----7------

There are also a few notes played over the end chord (Listen for these)

E--7-------7-------7-7--7-7-7-7-7-7-7-9-9-9--7------7-------7-7-7-7-7-7-9-9-9-9-9--7-
B----10-9---10-9----------------------------------10-9---10-9-----------------------------7-
G-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------9-
D-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------9-
A-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------7-
E-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------7-

That's It!
