Lizzy At The Fox
My first concert experience with Thin Lizzy occurred July 24, 1979. They were the opening act for Journey at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Ga. The tour was for my favorite Lizzy album Black Rose. It was a dynamite show...only too short since they were the opening act. When Journey took the stage, it was very anti-climatic and we left after 2 songs. My thirst for live Lizzy was not quenched that nite nor any other. I love live music, and these guys are the best I've seen.

Lizzy At The Agora Ballroom
My second and last concert experience with Thin Lizzy was December 11, 1980. This time, they were at the Agora Ballroom in Atlanta, Ga. (across the street from the Fox) This was the Chinatown tour and Thin Lizzy was the only band at this concert.
We arrived about 3 hours early, since there were no assigned seats (1st come-1st served) Needless to say, we were first in line to get into the Ballroom. By the time the band took the stage, I was ready for some Thin Lizzy music. I stood right in front of the stage and enjoyed every minute of the show.

On this particular nite, Scott Gorham had a cast on his leg and he was forced to play from a chair. (he had dislocated it on this tour in Washington DC) A stranger standing next to me asked me if I would like one of Scott's guitar picks. I said that I would, and he reached onstage and grabbed 2 or 3 and gave me one. The show itself was outstanding! Great sound and light show. I guess you could call it the

"Lizzy Live Experience"

After the show, my friend Boyd asked me if I wanted to go backstage. Of course I would, but how could he arrange it? He said to let him worry about that and give him a few minutes. He somehow conned the security guard into letting us backstage. After we walked down some stairs, we walked directly into the dressing room. There I met Phil Lynott, Brian Downey, Scott Gorham, Darren Wharton and Snowy White. They were very friendly and more than happy to oblige us with autographs.

It Was Truly A Nite To Remember!
