Movie Soundtracks

Lost Highway: Once again Trent Reznor has produced another outstanding movie sound-track. I bought this CD because the music was so atmospheric during the film. Bands featured include Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Rammstein, and Marilyn Manson.
Spawn: The Judgement Night soundtrack excellently mixed Hip-Hop with metal bands to produce brilliant tracks. Spawn tries the same with techno and metal. The Judgement Night soundtrack was a success (unlike the film) because the bands got together, co wrote, and recorded the songs together. The Spawn soundtrack is a bit of a disappointment, because it sounds like the techno artists were used to remix, or just in post production to add a techno feel to some metal tracks.

Return of the Jedi : Special Editions Soundtracks: I'm reviewing all 3 of these albums at once since they are all equally as brilliant and amount to being very similar. They are similar, but it is worth owning all three since while hearing the music, you can see the film inside your head! That is an indication of how atmospheric the music is. John William did an excellent job of writing a variety of pieces to suit the variety and depth of different scenes in the 3 films.
I bought all 3 CDs as limited edition double CDs box sets. These don't come cheap, but each CD set comes with a booklet featuring photos from the Special Editions, and a description on each piece. Also for each movie, there is a different hologram on the CD. Also the limited edition versions, contain a few extra pieces, and include the 20th Century Fox intro music!
