Concert review

Everclear is truly awesome. the one thing that got me hooked on them so bad is that i went to their concert in cleveland on june 7'th 1998 at nautica stage. the show started off with a little fastball. they were good. not as good as i expected, but good. then marcy playground came on. before then, the only marcy playground songs i had heard were of course the little pop song and a little from the cd. even though i knew nothingof them, they were still awesome. they really got the party started with the mosh pits and crowd surfing. then after they were done, the stage was empty for a good half hour or so. the touring accordian player stepped out of the darkness with a spotlight on him. he started playing a little tune. then art stepped out from behind the stage and him and the accordian player did an intro of santa monica. as soon as they were done, the recording for so much for the afterglow started playing. everyone went nuts. when the time came for the band to step out of the darkness, the feed back started and then the place blew up!!! all i saw were white men in balck suits. from there on it was the coolest thing i have ever seen. they were so good onstage, had the right tone, and of course art's facial expressions when he sings topped the whole thing off. it was the craziest party i have ever seen. the one problem about the whole concert was that people kept throwing things at the band. beer, coins, clothes, and a whole lot of beer got thrown. who would have that much disrespect to throw things at them? the guys did a set consisting of about every song from so much for the afterglow, then went to sparkle and fade and then a little of world of noise. during everything to everyone, a GIANT ship came by, honking his big ol' horn, and blurring the song. i could tell they were playing it, but i could not pick out the tune. towards the end, they started going offstage. they stayed off for a couple minutes and then came right back on playing a few encores and on the last song, a couple lucky people from the crowd got to actually go up onstage and dance with the band. it was truly the best show i have ever seen.
