The joke here stems from Alan's aka Heyp birthday bash the previous annum. Let's leave it at that. Safe to assume that Heyp (far left) is at low-risk of acquiring skin cancer considering the bronze shade he's sporting in this July 1995 pic in Yaletown, a gentrified commercial area in downtown Van. Although the three of us were at one point roomates, the Al here should not be confused with the other Al roomate during an earlier era.
