and look where it got me

the shore is sparkling in my pupils
sandy dunes i always thought
i would be able to reach
only with you swimming there
right behind me
i was wrong

and i'm so ever glad you aren't
because i've noticed
that the only time i sink
the only time i start to drown
is when you are there
right there beside me
pulling me under
making me cough
and choke
wearing my body weaker
testing the limits
to something that doesn't exist
and when i wished that you'd come back
to save me from that horrid thing
called lonliness
i turn around again
as i reach the land
so soft under my toes
after so long of being away
and i see you sinking
and think i should swim after you
to save you
yet again
but i can't
its up to you
because i'm tired of dying
