Jimi Hendrix!

Jimi Hendrix!

Fireworks were destined to surround him his entire life. Little James Allen Hendrix was born into a world at war at 10:15 a.m. on the 27th of November, 1942 at Seattle's King County Hopsital. For his mother, the former Lucille Jeter, barely eighteen and in delicate health, it was hardly a time for celebration. She had no money, no home and her new husband was off to war. Baby Jimmy** was facing a future of instability that would mark his childhood and affect much of his adult life. {**author's note: From his youngest days Hendrix was called by the standard diminutive of James, although in those days the spelling would almost certainly have been the conventional "jimmy". In this book however, the spelling "jimi" was used throughout his professional career.}
