Okay, this is everything you always wanted to know about 2 for 1 trading.
I usually restrict new traders to 5 tapes worth of material at one trade. This cuts down on delay on my side. When I have lots of trades to complete, the trades that are for new material get put at the front of the line. Otherwise, its first come, first serve. Someday you might be at the end of the line and will be happy that I am only taping 5 tapes per person ahead of you.
For each tape of material I am going to send you, you need to send me 2 unopened blank Maxell XL II 90 min tapes. One of these will be returned to you with music on it.
Some shows are 100 min shows. For these you should send one 100 min tapes and one 90 min tape for me. I don't have all that much use for the 100 min tapes and you shouldn't be stuck shelling out the extra 50 cents or so for them.
Each 90 min show fits on one tape. Two 120 min shows fit on 3 tapes as do two 135 min shows.
I tend to leave the extra space on the end blank. If you ask, I will use filler material from a tape of rarities including songs from soundtracks and other artists albums with Buffett singing. I will not put partial shows on tapes as filler (for example, 20 min of a 90 min show).
Trying to cram as much as possible on to tapes increases the likelihood that songs will be cut. I don't like cutting shows down any further than they already are.
Send cases and J-cards along with your tapes to be returned to you. I might forget which tapes go to who without cases to stack up.
Include a note with your address and what you want me to tape along with the blanks. I had my last computer die on me before I was able to get addresses of trades off of it. Nobody got screwed but me and I don't know now who did it. But that was only because the people I still had to send tapes to had given me their addresses on paper.
After we agree on a trade, email me when you are sending out tapes to me so I will know when to expect them.
