What answer would you give to this question: -When you see a glass filled halfway, do you say "The Glass is half full", or" The glass is half empty?" or when you are given a task to do. Do you see beyond that or do you focus on the task directly ahead of you. The person who answers "The glass is half full" perceives the glass as a quantity that can be added on too, in the essence , a optimistic person. Somebody who looks at the brighter side of things. This kind of person will try to look for ways and means to Fill the glass up, because the answer he gave still shows that the glass can be filled . This person sees that there are more opportunities for events to happen. While on the downside, the person who says "The glass is half empty" He would likely be somebody who looks on the downside of things, a pessimistic person, a person who thinks that the glass is already at its maximum, that cannot be filled anymore, as opposed to the half filled glass. A person who thinks that whatever that can happen has already happened. In another sense this analogy can be compared with the analogy of " There are 2 kinds of people in this world ,1. The people who go out to look for things, 2. The people who wait for things to happen to them" I would like to say that the people who go out looking for things are people who still feel that the glass is not really filled to the brim yet. The people who wait for things to happen to them are usually the people who think that the glass is half empty , and don't usually go out and look for things to do. Anyway, this is my perception of the word "perception", it will be kind of cool to see glasses that cannot be half empty of half full, I wonder what category those people will fall into. It kinda intrigues me a bit to know how other people think and go do their normal daily stuff.
