"I wonder what colour eyes Coralee has today?" Taylor muttered, gazing out dreamily at the thick grey cloud cover outside. One of these days, it was going to start snowing. Isaac glanced at Taylor suspiciously.
"Tay. Do you realise that you have been mentioning her all day? Or is this a subconscious thing happening here."
"Have I?" Taylor asked. He didn't think he had mentioned he that much.
Isaac nodded his head in amusement.
Taylor shrugged.
"Well, I thought she was cool."
Isaac stared at Taylor's dreamy expression, trying to read his emotions.
"You'd like to meet her again, wouldn't you?" He said.
Taylor turned his head sharply. Why was he feeling so excited at the idea of seeing Coralee again? Why?
"Well, yeah. Wouldn't you?"
Isaac shrugged.
"Well, I mean I wouldn't mind. She was nice."
"Well then, why don't we!?" Taylor exclaimed. He was getting really excited now. It had been ages since they had made some new friends. And Coralee was the person Taylor most wanted to make friends with, at this point in time. "We can just E-mail her and meet her at the milk bar or something!!"
Isaac smiled.
"You really like her, don't you Tay."
Taylor smiled guiltily.
"I don't know Ike. Maybe I do."
"Ok, let's E-mail her then!!"
Isaac and Taylor jumped up from their bedroom floor, and ran to the computer. Jessica and Avery were there.
"Can we use the computer for a second. We only need to write an E-mail." Isaac said.
"Yeah, It won't take long." Taylor added.
Jessica sighed, and moved aside.
"Who are you writing to?" Avery asked.
"A girl called Coralee." Isaac said.
"We met her yesterday, and she was nice." Taylor smiled.
"Are you going on a date!!" Jessie exclaimed loudly. Avery started giggling accusingly. Isaac and Taylor grinned.
"No!! We're just meeting her." Taylor said.
"As friends." Isaac grinned.
"Oh." Jessie said, a little disappointed.
Isaac started typing.
Coralee,
Hello again!! You know, we aren't doing much at the moment, and we were wondering if you wanted to go see a movie with us.
"A movie? We're going to see a movie with her?" Taylor asked.
"Yeah well, what else do you want to do. Hang out at the milk bar?"
"Well, what movie will we see?"
"I don't know. We'll decide later."
We're free tomorrow, so if you want to come, E-mail us. Is 2:00pm at the Jenks cinemas ok? We could meet you outside or something. See you then hopefully!!
Ike, Tay, and Zac.
"Oh, can we come too!?" Jessie asked.
"Yeah." Avery whined.
Taylor glanced at Isaac, and gave him a look.
"I don't know if…" Isaac began.
"No, I mean, if we decide to ask Coralee out, you don't want to see her kissing one of us do you?"
That was too much for Avery, and she ran squealing in disgust from the room, followed by a more controlled Jessica. Isaac and Taylor grinned at each other, and pressed 'send'.
"OH MY GOSH!!" Coralee screamed.
"What!?" Lleyton called.
"HANSON WANT TO SEE ME AGAIN."
Lleyton entered the room, and quickly scanned the E-mail.
"No way." He muttered.
"Yes way!!" She exclaimed.
Lleyton rolled his eyes and left the room. Why did everything go right for his sister?
Isaac, Taylor, and Zac
Yeah, I'll come to the movies!! It'll be fun, and I've got nothing to do but homework. Anything's better than that!! So yeah, 2:00 is fine. I'll meet you at the ticket box ok? See you tomorrow!!
Coralee
"ZAC, IKE!! CORALEE'S COMING!!!" Taylor yelled, unable to smother the wide grin that had spread over his face. He felt that happy bubbly excitement that he loved so much racing through his veins. Isaac and Zac raced into the room and read the E-mail on the computer screen.
"Woo hoo!!!" Zac yelled, and raced out the room after Mackie, who was shooting him with a water pistol.
"Wow, I can't believe we are actually seeing her again." Taylor said.
"I know. It's pretty cool!!" Isaac said, and raced after Zac.
Taylor smiled, and pushed his blond hair behind his ears in satisfaction. For the first time these holidays, things were looking good.
"Dad? Can we go now?" Taylor asked.
He didn't want to leave Coralee waiting. He wouldn't blame her if she thought they had set her up.
"DAD?!"
"Yeah Tay, we're going. Come on." Walker said, grabbing his keys.
Isaac, Taylor and Zac climbed into their car, which was a van, and Walker started the engine.
"So what's this girl's name, guys?" He asked his sons.
"Coralee." Isaac said.
"Hmm, that's a nice name."
"Yeah, she's cool." Taylor said.
"She can change her eye colour!!" Zac exclaimed.
"Yeah, she's got contact lenses." Taylor added.
"When we met her, one of her eyes was green, and the other was purple." Isaac said.
"Wow. She sounds interesting. What movie are you going to see." Walker asked.
"Deep impact!!!" Zac yelled.
Coralee jumped out of the car, and turned back to her mum.
"How do I look?" She asked.
Marissa smiled.
"As unique as you usually look."
Coralee smiled.
"Ok, thanks mum. I'll ring you after the movie ok?"
"Ok, good luck sweetie."
With that, Coralee slammed the door, took a deep breath, and headed towards the Cinemas. She had chosen to wear the kind of stuff she usually wore. If Hanson wanted to see her again, then they must have liked her just the way she was. Coralee didn't intend to behave any differently just to 'impress' Hanson. If people didn't like you for who you really were, just your stereotype, then who did they like, and who are you?
Coralee was half was across the road when she saw three blond haired boys jumping out of a white van. She froze for a second, but remembered that she was in the centre of a road, and willed her legs to take her to safety. Zac was the first to spot her. He grinned and waved. Taylor and Isaac then looked, and waved too. Coralee smiled, still trying not to go into shock. After so many hours of gazing at posters and studying videotapes and wondering what they really were like…here they were. Her whole system and way of thinking was having trouble accepting that this was reality.
"Hello!!" Zac exclaimed as she approached them.
"Hi!!" Coralee smiled.
Everyone said his or her greetings, and Taylor gazed at her curiously as she talked. Her eyes were an impossibly bright blue, and her purple eyelashes made them seem even more iridescent. There was no sticker on her forehead, but a hint of silver glitter on her cheeks. Coralee glanced at Taylor, and caught him staring at her. She felt a race of excitement bolt through her body. Taylor smiled.
"Your eyes are so cool!!" He said.
Coralee smiled. The contact lenses had really won him over. In the past, it had freaked some people out so much that they had trouble holding conversation. She was glad that Hanson didn't have that problem.
"What colour are your real eyes?" Zac asked.
"Guess!!" She grinned.
"Brown?" Isaac suggested.
"Green?" Zac said. "I bet they're green!!"
Taylor considered her face thoughtfully for a second.
"Blue." He stated.
"Taylor got it." Coralee smiled. "My eyes are pale blue."
Taylor smiled in satisfaction. Coralee glanced at him, and was caught by his expression. Taylor's sky blue eyes and softly smiling face gazing right at her gave her an incredible feeling. Their eyes were locked for a few seconds as they silently gazed at each other in fascination. Coralee was the first to ask herself what the hell she was doing, and looked away. Taylor was awoken from his dreamy state, and dropped his eye level to gaze at his shoes instead.
"So what movie are we seeing?" She asked.
"Deep Impact." Isaac said. "Is that ok?"
"Yeah!! I haven't seen it, but I want too."
"Ok cool. Cos that movie's meant to be, like, cool." Zac said in a goofy voice.
"Heh heh, cool." Isaac said in his beavis and butthead voice.
"Yeah, yeah cool!!" Zac answered in an even zanier voice.
Taylor grinned, and threw his arm in front of them before they could go any further
"Ok, ok!!" He glanced at Coralee, and smiled. "You get used to them doing that."
"Yeah, we're goofy." Zac said, grinning. "And there's two kinds of goofy…"
"We had this conversation…" Isaac interrupted.
"In an interview, yeah." Zac finished. "Anyway, I'm goofy stupid, and Ike's goofy funny…sometimes, or it's the other way round!!"
"And come to think of it, Tay's goofy nothing!!" Isaac said thoughtfully.
"Yeah, well, someone has to be normal and sane." Taylor grinned.
Suddenly two girls came tearing up the footpath, and broke into Hanson's conversation.
"Oh my gosh. Could we please have your autographs?" One of the girls asked.
"Sure." Taylor smiled, and took the pen and paper that were offered to him. Isaac and Zac signed the paper too, and gave it back to the girls.
"Oh, thank you so much!!" They exclaimed, staring at Hanson adoringly.
"That's ok!!" Zac exclaimed.
With that, the girls turned, and headed off in the opposite direction.
"I love you Tay!!" One girl called over her shoulder.
Taylor smiled, and gave them a last goodbye wave. Coralee was greatly amused by the way the two girls behaved around Hanson, and began to understand why she was here, and not standing at home jubilantly holding an autographed napkin. Hanson continued as if nothing had happened.
"Ok, shall we go in?" Isaac asked.
"Yep!!" Coralee agreed.
With that, they walked into the cinema complex. Everywhere they went, people were staring, and glancing and saying 'was that who I think it was?'. Many people even waved and smiled as they passed, as if they were old friends. Hanson were used to the constant attention, but Coralee was captivated, and couldn't help feeling special. It was three blond haired superstars…and Coralee.
"Hey Coralee, what other colours can you make your eyes?" Zac asked.
Coralee smiled.
"Ah, you see, that's for me to know, and you to find out."
"Can you make them go white?"
"No!! That's way too freaky!! I'd be like Marilyn Manson."
"You don't like Marilyn Manson?" Isaac asked.
"No, he scares me. Do you?"
"Nah, not particularly." Isaac shrugged, and they started down the stairs.
Taylor turned to say something, and promptly tripped in the post of the banister. He twisted, and sort of jumped uncoordinatedly down the last few steps to the landing. He felt a jab of pain through his already injured ankle.
"Ow, ow, ow!!" He exclaimed, and began hopping around on one foot.
"Ok. Tay's dead." Isaac stated as the rest of them reached the bottom of the stairs. Coralee walked up to Taylor, smiling sympathetically.
"Are you ok?" She asked, looking into his fun loving, sparkling blue eyes.
Taylor grinned with embarrassment, and put his hand on her shoulder to steady himself. He was definitely not giving this girl a very coordinated impression of himself. Coralee's heart rate quickened at the placing of Taylor's hand, and she began to imagine how fantastic it would feel to hug him. She glanced up into Taylor's face and saw that he was blushing. He was so cute.
"Yah, I'm ok." He grinned. "Just have to walk like a retard for the rest of the day."
Isaac and Zac sniggered, and Coralee grinned.
"Ok, let's go." Taylor said, removing his hand from Coralee's shoulder, and began limping down the corridor towards cinema 4. Just then, a cinema door opened, and people spilled out in front of them.
"Oh my gosh oh my gosh!!" A girl suddenly shrieked loudly, and pointed at Hanson. Her group of five friends all began hyperventilating on the spot, and froze in the doorway, wondering what to do. Hanson smiled, and glanced at each other. Here we go again. Coralee thought. One of the girls plucked up enough courage, and walked out a little as Hanson came closer.
"Um…hi!!" She said, and waved.
"Hey guys!!" Isaac said, and smiled at them.
"Oh my gosh, can I have your autograph?" Another said.
"Sure." Taylor said, and all three proceeded to sign every girl's movie ticket, and shake their hands.
"Are you going to tour again soon!?" Another girl asked. "Oh please, please say you are!!"
"Well, we're on a break over Christmas, so, you know." Zac shrugged.
"We're not sure exactly what we're doing next, but we'll put it on our web site as soon as we know." Taylor said.
"Do you guys know our web site?" Isaac asked.
All five girls shrieked 'yes'.
"I go there everyday!!" One girl said.
"Everyday? Wow!!" Taylor exclaimed.
Isaac glanced behind him at the cinema, and the clock on the wall. They were already 10 minutes late.
"Uh, guys we have to go and see our movie now." Isaac said.
All the girls started whining 'oh no, please don't go'.
"Sorry peoples." Zac shrugged, smiling.
Hanson waved goodbye, smiled, and began walking off in the opposite direction. Calls of 'we love you' were yelled down the hall after them.
"We love you too!!" Zac yelled back, grinning.
The girls squealed, and a few of them were reduced to tears as Hanson rounded the corner into the dark cinema. The advertisements were already showing on the screen.
"Sorry about that." Taylor said softly to Coralee, who was forced to wait as the boys talked to their fans.
"It's ok. I don't care." Coralee smiled. She was charmed that Taylor cared about her feelings. A guy never had before.
Zac raced down the aisle, and into a row of seats. Coralee followed him, smiling. Zac was gorgeous. Just a huggable friendly bundle of fun.
Isaac was about to follow Coralee, but he stopped, and indicated for Taylor to go instead. Taylor looked at Isaac questioningly, and he winked.
Coralee couldn't help smiling as Taylor took his place in the seat next to her. Taylor. Tay. Tayles. That name was heard all the time, but when it belonged to someone, it's meaning changed completely.
"Coral?" Zac whispered.
"Yeah?" Coralee smiled.
"Hmm, Coral." Zac repeated thoughtfully, "That's cool. Can I call you Coral?"
"Yeah sure, that's what most people call me."
"Like people mainly call me Zac, and not Zachary?" He asked.
"Yeah, like that."
"So Coral, do you home school?"
"No, I go to Macquarie High. It's ok there, I guess."
"Oh, ok." Zac said, a little disappointed. It would have been fun to do some school with Coralee. "We home school. Hang on, you go to high school? Does that mean, you're starting after the holidays, or…"
"No, I've already been going for a year."
"But that means that this year you start year 11!!" Zac exclaimed, confused.
"Yeah!!" Coralee laughed.
"But you're younger then Tay, didn't you say, and he's only starting year 10 this year. He hasn't even finished year 9 yet!!"
"Oh really? No, that's normal. I'm a bit ahead of myself, I think. I really should be in year 10."
Zac grinned.
"You must be so much smarter then Tay." He stated.
"Oh, I don't know about that!! I'm not that good at school."
"Why?" Zac asked.
Coralee smiled, and glanced into Zac's sincere face. This was one sweet kid.
"I don't work very hard. But it's getting kinda important now, so I'll probably try harder."
Zac nodded.
"So what's home schooling like?"
"Oh, it's really cool..." Zac began.
Taylor glanced over at Coralee and Zac. They seem to have hit it off well. He could only see the back of Coralee's head, and their conversation was just a whispered murmuring as the advertisements flickered across the cinema screen. They had been chatting the whole time, and Taylor felt an incredible need to get involved.
"Tay." Isaac said.
"Hmm?"
"What are they talking about?" He whispered.
"I don't know. I'm trying to listen. Zac gets on quite well with her, huh?"
Isaac grinned.
"Do I sense some jealousy there Tay?" He said slyly.
"No!!" Taylor exclaimed, shaking his head and scrunching up his nose. "Jeez Ike!! Just because you're girl obsessed, doesn't mean I'm gonna fall for the first girl that comes by."
"But you like her, don't you?"
Taylor sighed.
"No, no, no, I said she was cool. That doesn't mean I fancy her."
Isaac wasn't convinced, but left him anyway.
"...so then this teacher walks in." Coralee was saying whilst munching on her popcorn. She was telling Zac one of the pranks they once played on their teacher. "And she sat down at her desk like…"
Coralee stopped mid-sentence and looked down into her lap in disbelief, her mouth dropping open. The bottom of her popcorn carton had fallen through, and the entire box of popcorn was now in a pile on her knees. Zac took one look at Coralee's face, and burst into giggles.
"Zac!! Shh!!" Coralee hissed, grinning. She shifted, and a wave of popcorn fell to the ground. She pushed the rest off her lap, unimpressed, and Zac began giggling harder. Coralee grabbed Zac's arm.
"Zac!! It isn't funny!!" She told him, though she was beginning to laugh herself.
"Yes it is!!" He announced, nodding his head.
"Oh my gosh, what happened to you!?" Taylor announced, grinning. Isaac looked across, and laughed as well.
Coralee turned and found herself staring into Taylor's sparkling eyes. He looked captivating in the flickering light of the movie screen.
"The popcorn carton decided to dump on me. And your brother seems to find it quite amusing." Coralee glanced accusingly at Zac, and he giggled again.
Taylor smiled, and lent back in his chair again. This was such a Zac - Coralee thing. Taylor didn't know why, but he wished she would talk to him instead of Zac so badly that it hurt. The cinema screen widened, and the credits started rolling. The movie was about to start, and he had hardly talked to Coralee at all. He lifted his shoe to cross over his knee, and rotated his ankle gingerly. Something really hurt, probably a damaged ligament.
Coralee glanced at his foot, and his shoes.
"Cool shoes." She whispered, running her hand over the side of his shoe.
"Thanks." Taylor said, smiling.
A warm and fuzzy feeling washed through Taylor's body as Coralee talked to him and touched his foot. Woah, what was that? He exclaimed, and placed his foot back on the ground. He glanced across at Coralee, who was leaning back in her seat, and looking up at the screen. Her profile seemed kind of perfect to Taylor in the dim lights. Zac whispered something to her, and she smiled. Her face really lit up when she smiled. Taylor looked back to the front again, his emotions starting to scare him. He hadn't felt or thought about a girl like this for a long, long time. Well, there was that really nice pretty girl he met backstage a while ago. He really liked her. But he was scared to have these emotions now, because it could actually lead somewhere. This was a girl who lived in Tulsa, and near their house. She could be the one, and the reality of this was way too scary for Taylor's liking. He felt his usual confidence flying out the door, and became lost at what to do or say next. He felt his naturally shy natur
e taking over.
Taylor nervously munched his popcorn, and glanced across at her again. She was folding her empty popcorn box absent-mindedly.
"Do you wanna share my popcorn?" Taylor whispered, placing his box on the armrest between them.
Coralee turned her head, and they found themselves staring into each other's eyes again.
"Yeah, thanks." She answered, smiling sweetly. Once again, she was charmed by Taylor's thoughtfulness.
Seeing her face so close enchanted Taylor. She's pretty. She really is. He told himself, gazing into her eyes dreamily. The more he got to know Coralee's pleasant personality, the more beautiful she seemed. Coralee dropped her stare from Taylor's eyes shyly, which awoke him from his daydream. He looked back to the screen, and tried to work out what was happening in the movie. Taylor realised with a shock that he had been thinking about nothing but Coralee.
Coralee's imagination was working overtime. She knew Taylor was glancing at her when he could, and the implications of this were way too much for her to handle. She was trying so hard to like Taylor as a friend and nothing more. But his good looks and gentle friendly nature were making it almost impossible. The Hanson's were the nicest guys she had ever met. This was the first time she had ever gone anywhere with a guy. It was numbingly ironic that Hanson happened to be those 'first guys', and Coralee was still trying to prove to herself that she was not in a dream.
Taylor glanced at Coralee once more, watching her. Coralee felt his gaze and looked up. Taylor quickly shifted his eyes to the screen, and felt his cheeks flushing. Blushing? That was another thing Taylor thought he had under control. Coralee looked away, and tried not to smile. He looked so cute. She couldn't help staring up at him again. Taylor felt her looking, and was unable to resist glancing over. Their eyes met, and Taylor smiled bashfully before looking away. Coralee smiled, and looked back to the screen. Why had he gone so beautifully coy all of a sudden?
The movie finished, and Coralee felt sudden sickening fear striking her deep in her heart. Hanson were going to leave now. She may never see them again. Ever. Such thoughts made her want to collapse on the floor and weep, but there was no way that she was going show such emotions in front of Hanson. Instead, she concentrated on the antics of Zac as he waltzed up the aisle.
"That was a cool movie!!" Zac exclaimed.
"But it could happen, you know, all that comet stuff." Isaac said.
"Yeah, that's what makes it so freaky." Coralee agreed.
"I didn't know you could land on a comet!!" Zac exclaimed. "That was cool!!"
"Hey, guys, I'm going to ring Dad ok?" Taylor said to his brothers.
"What about Coralee? How are you getting home?" Isaac asked.
"Um, yeah, I was going to ring my Mum." She said.
"Oh, that's ok, we'll take you!!" Taylor said quickly. He wasn't going to let an opportunity like that pass.
"Really? Oh cool, thanks!!" Coralee said, smiling. Hanson were driving her home? This would be memory to cherish.
"Oh man." Taylor sighed, looking around. "Anyone know where the phones are?"
"Yeah, I do." Coralee said.
"Ok, let's go." Taylor smiled, and began to limp after Coralee. He turned back to his brothers. "Meet you guys outside ok?"
"Ok." Isaac said, and winked. Taylor smiled at his brother incredulously, and turned his back.
Taylor picked up the receiver, and put in some coins. He turned to Coralee.
"Um, could you not look as I put in our phone number?"
"Yeah sure." Coralee, and turned, leaning against the outside of the phone booth. Taylor felt incredibly rude, but Coralee didn't care. For people like Hanson, secrecy was critical, and she understood that completely.
"I'm really sorry. It's nothing personal. It's just that our security is really strict." Taylor said sincerely.
Coralee smiled at his apologetic words.
"No, it's ok. I understand."
"After my Dad meets you and we get together a few more times I'll probably be allowed to give it to you." Taylor said.
Coralee was frozen as Taylor's words sunk in. He was assuming that he was going to see her again. She felt like yelling with ecstasy.
"Oh yeah, that'd be cool." She managed to get out.
"Oh hi Avie, this is Tay. Yeah. Can you get Dad? Thanks." Taylor smiled at Coralee. "That was my sister." He said. Coralee nodded. She would love to meet Hanson's other siblings. "Oh Dad? Yeah. Uh huh. Is it ok if we take Coralee home? Ok, cool." Taylor smiled at Coralee, and nodded slightly. She grinned. "Yeah, just outside. Out the front. Yeah, it was really cool. Ok. Bye!!" Taylor hung up the phone, and turned to Coralee. A sparkling, joyful, wash of happiness lifted his heart joyfully as she smiled at him. He almost giggled out loud with bliss. This is it!! He exclaimed to himself. Taylor didn't care any more, there was no use trying to suppress the nagging emotions which were growing strongly inside him. Oh my gosh, I'm think I'm falling for Coralee!! Taylor couldn't help letting a relieved smile take over his face. Admitting it to himself was the first step, for if you didn't believe in yourself, then nothing will ever work.
"Hello, you must be Coralee." Walker said, shaking her hand warmly.
"Yeah. Nice to meet you Mr Hanson." Coralee said politely.
"Oh, you can call me Walker." He answered, smiling.
Coralee decided she like Walker. He was so...nice.
"So, did you have fun with all them?" He said, waving his hand in the direction of his sons.
"Yeah, it was fun!!" Coralee grinned.
"Alright then, let's go."
With that, they walked towards the van.
"Tay, you're limping again." Walker said, glancing at him with concern.
"Yeah, he fell down the stairs!!" Zac laughed loudly.
Walker rolled his eyes, and smiled. Taylor just smiled coyly.
"I hope you haven't torn a muscle or something Taylor." He said.
"I don't think so." Taylor said, trying to stop limping.
They arrived at the Van, and Taylor indicated for Coralee to go first into the middle row of seats. Coralee smiled. Impeccable manners too. These guys really did have it all. Taylor went in after. He tried some kind of demented hop to avoid putting pressure on his ankle, and bashed his head on the roof of the car instead.
"Ow!!" He exclaimed, rubbing his head, and sat down beside Coralee. Isaac and Zac, laughing at Taylor, got into the back row of seats, behind them.
"Oh Taylor, this just isn't your day huh?" Coralee smiled.
"Man, this isn't my holiday." Taylor sighed, leaning back on his chair sadly. Pain always guaranteed to bring your spirits down. Isaac and Zac became silent after Taylor's last comment, and memories of the cat's gory death came flooding back. Coralee sensed the uneasiness, and didn't say anything. She glanced over at Taylor, and his eyebrows were in that familiar frown. There was so much stuff about Hanson she still didn't know, and this mystery telepathy happening between the boys made Coralee realise this even more.
"Hey look!! Look!!" Zac suddenly exclaimed, pointing out the window.
They looked to see an old man in fluorescent pink leggings and yellow top riding an old fashioned bike loaded with bits and pieces of trash. In his front basket was an old radio which was blaring 'oom pah pah' music through the neighbourhood. Taylor's face softened, and he smiled.
"It's the fluoro guy!!" He said.
"Hey, you know him too!?" Coralee laughed. "Me and my brother followed him once, and you know, he just goes round and round the block!!"
Hanson laughed.
"He's so weird!!" Zac shrieked.
Taylor's heart throbbed. Just how close did Coralee live to them?
"Coralee? Which way?" Walker asked at an intersection.
"Oh, left here." She said.
After a few directions, Coralee found herself driving down the street in Hanson's car. Taylor glanced around, trying to find a familiar landmark. He sighed, aware that he had never been down this street before. He had no idea where they were.
"That one there." Coralee said, pointing to a homely little house on quite a big bit of land. Most blocks of land were quite large in this part of Tulsa. Coralee's mother was out the front, cutting dead twigs off plants. She glanced up as a white van slowed outside her house, and her mouth dropped open as she saw who was in the car with her grinning, waving daughter.
Marissa dropped her pliers, and walked towards the van. Walker got out of his car, and went to shake her hand.
"Walker Hanson." He said as he shook her hand.
"Marissa Carter." She smiled, a little stunned still.
"Nice place you've got here!!" He smiled, indicating the well kept, pretty house.
"Thank you." She said, and sighed. "Hard work though."
"Yeah, I know what you mean." Walker grinned.
"Wow, I can't believe my daughter ran into your boys!!"
"Yeah!! She's one of the lucky ones, let me tell you. They don't often follow up on people they meet."
"Oh really?"
"No, well, they can't. There are some very crazy girls out there." Walker smiled.
"Oh believe me, I know!! I went to their Tulsa concert, with my daughter and a couple of her friends. And I'm telling you, I have never been more deafened, more squashed, or had more fun in a long time!!"
Walker chuckled.
"I'm sure they'll be happy you enjoyed it!!"
"How are they coping with everything?"
"Oh they're doing great, really. They work hard and long, so naturally they're enjoying this Christmas break. But then they'll be off again, and they really do love it."
"That's great, it really is!!" Marissa said. She was talking to the father of a wonder family!!
