COMMENTS: Long before he did music, Adam Lindquist was a high school student with his own faux radio program. Begun as a class project with Derek Young, the show grew into a multi-cassette collection of popular music, wacky interviews, weird ads, and other bits of humor. The tapes, dating from 1995-1996, were rediscovered in 1999 when I asked Adam to play them for me and Kevin Hurley. The recordings were cheesy, but charming and, quite often, funny. This spurred Adam to create a 2-CD set of highlights from these "WENI" cassettes, as well as recent "Free Ride at Five" radio segments he'd done with (and without) me and Kevin. Seven copies were made and given to friends on February 2, 2000. Adam's deluxe package for the set included liner notes, pictures, an introduction (written by me), and an interview with Adam and Derek (given, via emails, by me).
