Crawling Arnold

WRITTEN BY: Jules Pfeiffer
PERFORMED AT: Corning Community College, Corning, NY
PERFORMED ON: September 28-30, 1995
DIRECTOR: Hank Moonschein
SPONSORED BY: CCC Two-Bit Players
CAST:
* BARRY ENTERPRISE- David Alan Scott Jr.
* GRACE ENTERPRISE- Chris Faber-Moseley
* MISS SYMPATHY- Laura Fusare
* MILLIE- Melissa Bright
* ARNOLD ENTERPRISE- Chuck Cook

PLOT: An eccentric father (David Alan Scott Jr.) hires a social worker (Laura Fusare) to investigate why his adult son Arnold (Chuck Cook) is crawling around the house like an infant. A one-act "retro-comedy," as one of the papers described it.

HISTORY: Within only one month, I auditioned for, rehearsed for, and performed my first college play. It took me by surprise that, within only a few days after starting college classes, I already had a major role in a college play.
Other pleasant surprises: my first stage wife, Chris Faber of Horseheads' WENY Radio 92.7, and Laura Fusare, my co-star and first long-time college friend.
For my role in this show, I had to have white shoe polish put into my hair to make it look grey.
An additional note: "Crawling Arnold" was the first one-act show to be directed by Hank Moonschein at CCC. Since he was now retiring as head of the theater department, he decided to bring things full-circle by making it his last one-act show as well.

For most of the performances, this play was shown as the second part of a double feature of one-acts; for the last performance, it was shown as the first part.
As for the other play...
