DASJr's Monkees Links

The best "missing links" on the web

This is a list of what I consider the most essential web pages on the Monkees. For an uncertain degree of convenience, sites have been classified into different catagories. As your interest grows, you will find further links through these pages.

General Info and Resource Pages:

* The Monkees Home Page- The mother load of Monkees info. News, pics, links, articles, MIDI's, WAV's, movies, and much, much more.
* The Monkees Sessionography- Kenneth Wang's site is a thorough document of the Monkees' history (particularly in the recording studio). A handy reference, and a good read. Highly recommended.
* The Monkees Film & TV Vault- A reference to their episodes, TV specials, movies, and commercials. Exhaustively researched, handily compiled, invaluably essential, and essentially invaluable. Bravo.

Favorite Fan Pages:
Each of these pages have the required assortment of pics, links, sounds, etc. Listed under each of these site titles are what I considered the most unique "must-see" sections of these pages.

* Monkeedom- Has a section full of neat animated Monkee images.
NOTE: This site has mine listed on their links page! :-)
* Pleasant Valley Sunday- Great stuff here, including nice pics and all sorts of great WAV files.
NOTE: This site has mine listed on their links page! :-)
* Mickyfreak's Monkees Cafe- Has a section dedicated to Micky, his parents, and his daughter.
* Barrelful of Monkees Web Site- I especially like the album reviews on this one.
* A Monkees Time Warp!!!- Lots of cool things here, including "Adopt a Monkbear"!
* Anna's Monkees Page- Has a beautiful overall design.
* Monkees is Ze Craziest Peoples- Brit & Wondergirl's site, filled with fun and games.
* Can You Dig It?- Are Micky and Mike "in the closet"...with each other?!? No, but that's just one of the many humorous articles, neat artwork, and fun things you'll find on this site.
* A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You (Daisy)- Pics, quotes, and...clones? A very unique and fun site.
* Tina's Monkee Page- Pics, sounds, and art. Pretty small, but pretty cool.
* Melissa's Monkee Menagerie- Has a lot of nice pictures, and a great collection of WAV files from the show.
* The Monkees Connection- Contains rare pics and articles, as well as some good-quality MIDI files.

Rare Monkees Recordings:

* Glenn's Monkees Rarities- A tape-trade list for getting those still-unreleased recordings and TV-show mixes by the group.
* Monkees Trading Post- Trade your own tapes for a wide variety of concert videos, audio tapes, and more.

Sites for Monkees and Beatles fans!:

* The Monkees' Pad (Dobolina)- The best site to feature both bands! Features pics, artwork, and lots more, including the actual scripts to unused scenes for "Head" and "A Hard Day's Night"! Also included is a Round Robin section that fans can help make themselves!
* The Monkles Home Page- Filled with terrific pics of both groups, as well as extra sections on "Newsies", "Swing Kids", and (ugh) "Scream".
* Washburn's Groovy Lil' Pad- A cool site for fans of the Beatles, the Monkees, and the Animaniacs! Lots of nice pics and animation here, and much more! To see the cool series of opening pages for this site, click here.
* Circle Sky (Rach)- Not only a Beatle and Monkee site, but it also has a section on the Rocky Horror Picture Show!
NOTE: This site has mine listed on their links page! :-)
* Beatlefreak's Page- A fellow Geocities site with many cool pics and links.
* NEW!Porpoise Lady's Groovy Webpage (Caitlin Tinney)- Another Geocities site with nice pics of both groups, plus a little tribute to Rocky Horror. Nice design throughout.

Solo Monkee Pages:

* Davy Jones- "...And Then Along Came Jones: The Official David Jones Home Page".
* Peter Tork- "Tork Talk: The Official Peter Tork Homepage".
* Mike Nesmith- "The Michael Nesmith Homepage".

Monkee Merchandise:

* The Rhino Records Home Page- Rhino Records is the company that has re-released all of the Monkees' original albums on CD, as well as adding previously unreleased bonus tracks, and the great "Missing Links" series (the Monkees equivalent of "The Beatles Anthology"). Get the track listings for all of these albums, as well as info on how to order these and other great things from Rhino.
* Here No Evil: A Tribute- This page has all the info you need on hearing this album, which features various artists covering the Monkees' best tunes.

Oddities:

* The New Monkees- This page has some info on this short-lived late-'80's TV show. An interesting read.
