TOWER
“Tower” started as a concept to create a
band that played the classic hard rock and blues music that its members had
listened to over the years. This music would be enjoyed by rock and roll bar

Dave Noriega – Guitar, Lead and Backing
Vocals
Dave
had fronted the original band “Chariot” for over twelve years. Chariot played gigs at Sundance, Lamours,
CBGB’s, Lion’s Cage and Sparks, to name a few. He then played for a few years
in the duo “Free To Be” with Dave Doty,
which did gigs at Barts, Michael’s Sport Pub, Gilligans and B.J. Hurney’s. Then
Dave joined forces with Guy to form “The Power”. They played a diverse
mix of music, ”From Seals and Crofts to Metallica”. Many of the songs performed
by “Tower” were selected because
Dave would play classic rock riffs in between songs on stage and the crowd
would applaud and request these songs. Dave has been known to excite crowds by
playing guitar with his teeth and behind his back. Rick James has favorably regarded his original music. Good Times
magazine has compared his songwriting style to Randy Jackson of Zebra.
Dave’s influences include many rock guitar legends including Jimi
Hendrix, Jimmy Page and Tommy Iommi. Dave continues to also teach guitar
t o
students which keeps him up on all styles of music
Rob Buchta - Bass Guitar, Lead and
Backing Vocals
Rob's
musical journey began with the drums at age nine. Two years later he discovered
his next instrument, the saxophone. He played both tenor and alto for two years
as well. He then fell under the spell of rock music and the sax took a back
seat to guitar. His first formal lessons with guitar began with Dave Noriega.
After a period of a few months, Rob continued playing on his own. It was a
period of self-discovery. The music of Kiss and Rush were the first of many
groups that inspired his love of rock music during his junior high school
years. This continued into high school with the discovery of the British metal
music such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple. After
high school the Classical guitar grabbed his attention. This began a period of
serious study earning him a B.A. in Music in 1997, and his M.A. in 2002 from
S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook. He has taught guitar, bass, and drums for the past ten
years right up to the present date.
Guy Tourangeau – Drums, Sound Engineer
Former

Afternoon, The Exceptions and Aviation.
Guy has engineered gigs at Red Parrot, The Peppermint Lounge, Fore and
Aft, Kenny’s Castaways, Cheers, Lamours, Sparks and My Father’s Place. During his twenty years as a sound engineer,
Guy perfected his drumming skills and often filled in when needed. “I’d fill in for drummers who would come
late to rehearsal until Dave finally said to me, ‘You’re the drummer in my next
band’ (The Power)”. Recently, Guy chaired the drum spot for original bands
“Flux” and “Vitamin D”. Guy also played in Roadhog with Matt Griffin (Ten in
the Afternoon), Kane Daily (Rooster), Steve Leighton (Kivetsky), Rick
Impresscia (On Time). Guy has been involved with many shows including Missing
Persons, Good Rats, Swiftkick, Virgin Steele, Overkill, Cruz Project and has
worked with Star Search vocalist finalist Rick Caudle. His main drum influences have been Mitch
Mitchell, Tony Williams, Elvin Jones and Ringo Starr.
