Today I added a Beseen.com Quizlet to the main page. Be sure to check it out. I'll (hopefully) change it regularly, every month or so. Right now, it's for voting on your favourite Vitamins album.
No, this isn't the first time since August 1 that I've updated the page, it's just the first time since then that I've written in here. My journal. Ugh. All I did today was scanned (yes, that's right folks, I temporarily have access to a scanner!) in the "new" MV seven inch cover, Meanwhile During the Class War. Check it out at the MV Album Info page.
It hasn't actually been a whole month since I've done updates, I've just been too lazy to write anything in here. I almost had to change the web site over to Freeservers, cuz the new and "improved" Geocities that merged with Yahoo is really pissing me off -- it's retarded. So I got halfway through copying and pasting all my html into my new account when things started functioning properly again around here, so for the time being, all's well and we're staying.
I put up the lyrics for the four songs on the new 7" (go here to check them out), and hopefully soon, since I have temporary access to a scanner, I'll be able to scan the sleeve, as well as the test pressing sleeve featuring Drew Barrymore that Simon was swell enough to send over. If anyone can make sound clips, please do so.
I have done more updates than it shows here, I just never fill in this secion. Is there a point? Does anyone read this? Hello? Hello? Can anyone hear me? Well, I just updated the tour page a little bit today, took off the info for the June 28 show, seeing as that didn't happen. I still don't have any venue or band information for the rest of their tour, but I guess we'll make do without, right? Well, we kind of have to. I'm tired, and I'm going to bed. Good night.
I finally got the tentative tour dates for the band's summer tour, so I created a new page with all the necessary info. Well, not all of it, as I don't have venues or accompanying bands as of yet, but I do have dates and cities. Anyway, check it out at the tour page.
I updated the information on the Upcoming Endeavours page. I also added the sound clip (in mp3 format) of The Day They Cancelled Baywatch to its page. And that's about it.
I just updated some of the information on the Upcoming Endeavours page. Also, I got out to the show on May 8 that MV played, sickness and all, and heard the new songs, which are, of course, wonderful.
As promised, I've been creating new buttons and titles for the web page. The main page is done for now, I'll work on the rest later. I added dumb commentaries to each of the sections too - I hope they thoroughly disgust you (at least as much as they do me).
Today was the first update I've made in quite a while. I added the Upcoming Endeavours section, which is where you can find out information about new albums in the works and whatnot. Also, there's a bit of tour information there, but I'll be making a new section for that once the band gets all the dates sorted out.
I'm also working on giving the page a makeover, as I have the chicken pox and nothing else to do. So there will be lots of changes that I probably won't account for in here all the time, you'll just have to put up with them for a little while. Once I get back in school (hopefully) Monday, I will be so overwhelmed with catching up with everything that there won't be another change to the page for a long time (unless Adam sends me the tour dates, then they'll be added). Ah. Bye.
I corrected a spelling mistake on the mailing list page.
I also watched American History X today. What an amazing movie. Everyone should watch it. I'd recommend a mature age, but why should you have to have been on this earth a certain number of years to face the harsh facts of reality?
Today I finally got around to making all of the pictures on the photo page into thumbnails for easier access. Now you just have to click on the little image to get the full view. Make sure you don't just look at the thumbnails, cuz the original, enlarged versions look much better. I also added the six pictures (one of each member of the band) to the page. Thanks to Dee for sending those in. Oh, and please join the Mailing List. It's literally dying a slow painful death. Until next time...
Picture time yet again. Thanks to Nicole for taking pictures at the recent show in Scarborough, at Delux Billiards, then for scanning them, and sending them in to me. All I did was add them to the gallery.
Well, I scored some pictures and added them to the gallery off another wonderful site, Local Punk. Make sure you check them out, they have tons of other MV pictures (I really didn't think I should steal all of them, and even I left some of the best ones...), and they also have info on other Ontario punk bands. I also joined their web ring, Orangeville Punx. Hopefully that'll bring in some more interest.
Today, despite having to go to work, I got lots done. I officially have no life, whatsoever. You know what's worse than that though? The fact that in my mind, I know that no one will ever actually read this page, so I'm basically just typing to myself. That's just great. But you know what, I'll do it anyway, cuz I'm bored and tired. So today I added the Album Info page, where you kind find pretty much useless information on anything by Marilyn's Vitamins, right back to their debut 5 song self titled cassette. That's right folks, you can learn about it but you can't actually get a copy cuz they're long gone. Anyway, what else did I do? Oh yeah, I added some more audio clips, these ones for Scapegoat, 100 Bodies and Pension Watch. They were zipped. I unzipped them for you. Yeehaw. I also added a few pictures (not of mine though) to the Pictures archive, make sure you check them out. Actually, don't bother, they're pretty bad. Moral for the day, don't do updates when you're tired, you'll end up deleting entire pages. No, wait, that was yesterday's moral.
Today I finished changing the fonts on the individual song pages that I didn't get to yesterday. Last night I forgot to take pictures at the show, meaning I have none of Danny, meaning I'll have to go to another Marilyn's Vitamins show to make sure I get some. What a shame. I added some audio clips to four of the songs; How to Debate a Nationalist and Win, Kids Need Guns, Squeegee Girl and October Monday. I've tried to make them myself, but can't, so I just borrowed those ones from Raw Energy. Shhhh. Also, I have unzipped Paint Shop Pro and it's in complete working order. Now I just have to figure how to use it.
Today was not very productive in web page land. I was bored, so I just fooled around with the fonts and layouts and whatnot, and changed a few of the indiviual song pages. If it still looks good to me tomorrow, I guess I'll change the rest of them. I'll be off to go see Marilyn's Vitamins play tonight, I'll take my camera again to get some more pictures, hopefully Danny will be there tonight cuz I don't have any of him. And Adam says he has a scanner, so once I get the pictures developed I'll just give them to him. See, don't give up hope on me. This page will be bigger and better...eventually.
I made some tacky orange buttons for the page, plus a banner, yesterday from the page I found the other day. I'm going to see Marilyn's Vitamins play in Scarborough tonight. I'll try to remember to take my camera so I get some pictures up on this thing. Of course, the only camera I have is a disposable one.... I wonder how good those will be. Of course, I don't actually know anyone with a scanner, but I can be resourceful. Sometimes.
Well I'm sure you can guess what I did today. Added yet another useless by quite enjoyable concept to this web site, a news update section. But as that's plainly obvious, let's move on. I just found a site that will let me make simple buttons and banners and whatnot for free. See, I'm really bad at web design; I merely know the basics. That's why this site is fairly simple. However I have downloaded Paint Shop Pro. Now I just need to unzip it. Sigh.
